Dropping in a 2UZ from a Tundra.. I should have some pictures after Christmas to post.. The shot below was another 2UZ project at Slee. My motor will get the same silver powder coat on the manifold and valve covers...

my wife has a Sequoia with the 5.7 engine. it pulls hard at the low end. hmmmmmm be nice to have that in an '80.

did you supply the engine or is Slee taking care of that?

I wish the 5.7 would fit but it will not. Slee found a low mileage motor and it gets a new Land Cruiser transmission

Morning Luke111

Just bought my first FZJ80 and love it. Started mods with the CDL switch and Baselining.
I'm also in Northern VA (Fairfax) work in DC. Strayed from the Explorer community, May have seen me driving around in a jacked up 99 black explorer sport on 35s.

Anyhow those days are gone and the LC is my new project.

Would like to pick your brain and maybe check out your truck in the future. Looks like you've done everything right!!! Great looking rig you've got!

Tembo Tusk LoadSpotter

I finally decided to order a LoadSpotter with the cutting board from Tembo Tusk. The fact that my 80 has ARB drawer slides...access to the fridge would be extremely difficult and did not want to give up a storage drawer to have the fridge slide mounted to the floor.

I've never meet Jerry L’Ecuyer but after reading his quest to acquire a drop slide from AU without success..... to building a first class drop slide here in the US, I gave him a call and ordered one.
Today he sent me a few pictures of the slide in final assembly along with instruction on the LoadSpotter and Buffalo Strap’s operation.
Thanks Jerry (Mud needs to figure out a way to Tag members)?

Hi Lou:

Good choice on the 2UZ and Slee.

Question: Are you going A343F reman from Toyota or one from Rodney down in Oz?

Or are you going 5speed?

:)

As far as I know, it's a reman from Toyota, Christo recommend going with a new transmission due to issues with used ones.

Good friends bought me the Goal Zero Yeti 150 with the Escape 30 Solar panel Briefcase and one Light-a-life for Christmas... I added 7 more lights and was looking for a case to store everything
I called a local tactical store who directed me to Dulles Case Center in Dulles Va..
Talked to them about my options and decided to leave everything with them so they could fit things just right
Here's the results .. SKB Case with CNC cut foam insert

That is very cool Lou! You are going to have to move somewhere where you can take advantage of all these badass new toys!

That's definitely in the master plan

Are you having them go through the engine before install?

If so, right on. That is the correct way to do a massive undertaking like this.
