Got the A-Pillar tweeter pod installed and one of the Disco cup holders. Working on a bracket to install two more cup holders on the back of the center counsel.

I never really cared for the look of the bare aluminum rack so it's getting a coat of black something. Either texture black paint or some off the shelf spray liner...I'm only doing the outer frame rails and the bottom keeping the top side bare aluminum. Scuffed it up with a wire wheel and shot a coat of self etching primer

Finished the rack.. I used Duplicolor Truck Bed Liner aerosol ...the underside and rails.. I'm not sure how good this stuff is but it was my only option . I don't have a compressor to shoot the higher quality stuff and wanted to get it done this weekend..

Lou -

WOW ! I just glanced thru the thread and minus the rear boxes and the type of roof rack; I think you have done what I want to do to my 80. Really like those door handles where did you get those ? Got me thinking of changing my turn indicator colors - but those headlights are slick I do want some of those.

Great looking truck bud ! Might be emailing you for questions.

The chrome door handles and chrome backed mirrors were on it when I purchased it so I'm not sure if they were a factory, port or dealer installed option, i have since replaced the mirrors.
Got home to late to get the rack back on the truck so took the time to get the light brackets ... the 4 inch HID lights the awning brackets and the eye bolt tie downs installed. The racks accessory attachments just slip into the tracks and bolt right down.

Today I got the rack and awnings back on the truck and mounted my IPF 900 lights that were mounted on my bumper before the light bar was added. I also made a rear cup holder bracket, covered it in vinyl and mounted two Disco cup holders to it.. I'll bolt it to the back of the center counsel... and took a few poser shots. The trucks was down at IPOR a few weeks ago so they could fab the two rear swing outs..... Tire carrier and ladder...looking forward to that.

Lou this looks awesome!

I have been neglecting the LX, and spending too much time on the GTR forums lately, but this really makes me want to get going on the LX again! Don't forget hot girl pics from Gold Cup! haha.

Oh and on a side note, are those cupholders quick removable? The only reason I didn't do rear cupholders was because I couldn't fold the seat down. I might need to look into doing some kind of quick release type of attachment now that I see yours.

Thanks!
Ryan

Lou - would you be willing to give up the dimensions of the block of wood you used to mount the disco cupholders? Thanks!

Ryan, I now realize that I finished the cup holders before Gold Cup but mounted them the next day and you are correct the seat just skims the cup holders so I'm working on a detachable system.... Either a simple slot using aluminum or these threaded knobs....I use them on my awnings for a quick removal and install..
The block is pretty simple 8 3/4 long and a 22 degree angle to compensate for the angle on the center counsel and I used aluminum to mount the cup holders to..... Started working on a new mounting method this evening.
I also had to fix my rear passenger window so thought I'd share this mounting method for my rear door speakers.... After trimming the sheet metal to install the larger speakers I used these MDF rings to run the screws into. Much easier than drilling through the door

Looks really good Lou, I forgot I have an aftermarket center console and it is a little longer. I like how you will have rear cup holders much nicer than how mine is set up. But I don't have a lot of passengers that ride in the back, except for short trips. I usually pull the rear seats if the dog is going long distance with me.

Looking forward to plugging in these new horns and tossing my current Road Runner "Beep Beep" horns on the 80 ... My CT200h has a great horn... so I ordered the high/low horns from our parts dept $47.00 per horn.

Here' a few Cruiser porn pictures of my lights with a full moon

Five minutes and instant gratification...... No doubt the simplist upgrade I've ever done ....I will no longer be embarrassed to pop my horn at some jack ass. The connectors from the 80 plugged right in to the new horns .... My 80 now has big boy horns.

I bought my 80 last April and have spent the better part of the last year spending money to turn my truck into what you see today and have only driven it a few thousand miles. The only mechanical and maintenance issues that I've had to tackle were new front rotors and pads, brake flush ,new fan, PHH replaced, small oil leak up front fixed and changed all the fluids...oil and diffs.
So yesterday I decided to change plugs , wires, distr cap air cleaner and the thermostat and added some BG injector cleaner ...I was not expecting much of a change but on the way home from work yesterday I can tell the truck is running so much better... smoother and it feels like it pulls a little stronger.
I change the thermostat after talking to Ryan Scott...he just changed his and his truck is running about 15 degrees cooler....mine is now running about 10 degrees cooler..Very happy with the results

Lou

What is a PHH?

Today, I reworked the rear Disco Cup holder mount and even though I rarely flip my middle row seats I plan on making it easy to remove but for now it's attached with two lag bolts. I also picked up Clarion equalizer and plan on mounting it inside the center counsel.
