Thanks! That's true! Thing is, i've got these new projector headlights for the Cruiser, and thought the old one would work better with the beam pattern that the JW SPEAKER lights currently throw. I might just go ahead and buy this bullbar - it really would be great help - protecting the ARB Intensity LED lights, as well as a solid protection for the engine compartment from the crazy drivers we have here in India :p

I am not buying the rear bumper - but does ARB still make their own rear bumper? OR do i have to buy the Kaymar bumper that is available?

wow, nice clean truck! sounds like you've got a full list of to-do's over the next few (weeks, months, years, etc). Word of advice, try to enjoy the cruiser first...don't do so much wrenching that it sits more than moves. that way it will grow on you and you'll keep it forever :)

I think... and correct me if I'm wrong. That is the "old style" ARB bumper. They only make the new "full" style these days. The PN of the new one is: 3410100. Un-fortunately you can't buy a brand new "old style" one from the factory. You'll have to look for a used one and pick that up, or have someone local to you re-create it.

I don't think its so much that the bull bar is mounted high, so much as the bumper is larger and offers greater protection than the old one. But again aesthetic is just as important as function otherwise no one would buy Ferrari's

Shane your build is coming along so nicely!

Mucho Grass-e-ass =)

Hats off to ya for developing and supporting our FJxx community - wish I had the skills!

Thanks for the compliments and enjoy the week. . .

Shane, a few questions!! The ARB bullbar that you have on your truck, do you know the model number of it?
I was looking to buy one this week. However since I am in Mumbai, there's just one importer of ARB. So it takes about 40 days to be shipped from Australia to India. None the less, I was looking for the bullbar like yours. I don't like the bullbars that are mounted high!
This is what i dont like:

This is what i'm looking for:

Here's the catch - my cruiser has the rectangle headlights with the turning indicator under it. So i'm hoping to it looks like this:

I'm getting my OME kit too by next month end, so i was hoping to buy the bullbar along with it. Do you know the model number of the one you own?

Hi-

The ARB that I have is like the 2nd picture you placed in your question - sorry, I don't know the number and moreover, I think shipping would render it a non-option insofar as cost-effectiveness is concerned?

Two of my recent arrivals (wired wagon's headlight harness & aux boxes; JW Speaker Headlights) - woot woot!

In the short time I've owned this 60, I feel like I've contracted some sort of multiple personality disorder, hehe. ADHD, btw, is both a blessing and a curse.

While I'm working on the 'what to do with the 2F' plan (pretty much ditched the V8, 2FE - looks like I'll simply do a solid rebuild of my 2F), I've been working on the interior and ordering parts (my standard answer to my better half: It's Onur's fault, lol).

Took everything but the driver's seat/dash out - inspected for rust, stripped and prepped (prepping) for dynamat, new carpet and padding.

Taking each door apart - inspecting, cleaning, greasing.
Replacing all gaskets/WS/trim/hardware - actually ordered/rec'd (most) but will put on once she's repainted (October tentative).

Spent a couple of hours at the interior shop going through fabric books - way more difficult than I thought it would be.
Decided to modify and redo OEM seats - just have to decide on a material(s) and color scheme.

I"ll post pics of the dynamat/etc. by next weekend (and yes, it's a bitch).

Shane

Pics: headlight harness, new headlights/corner (f/r) lights, taillights (aftermarket, sending back for a refund), hood liner. . .

And one with her older sister for good measure =)

Finished dismantling all 4 doors (again), removed as much from the rear qtrs as possible and scrubbed, wire brushed, degreased, and final cleaned before POR-15'ing all seams, doors, qtr panels and floor pan.

Hopefully all dry in a couple of days - at which point I'll start working on finishing the Dynamat project on/off the following week.

Just saw your intro post and the original photos, Shane. A beautiful vehicle! I saw that your shift knob plate is missing like ours was, and we found lots of good advice here in the forum on that little detail. Here's a thread we found some time ago which might be helpful when the time comes to replace or repair that item (if it hasn't already happened):https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/5-speed-shift-knob.297707/page-2.

Been a long time since I've updated on the siXty build. Wave after wave of personal/family situations put a hold on everything but made it through with a few scrapes/scratches. . .and back on the build process.

Here's a parts porn pic for you guys:

Most of these parts were accumulated earlier but all of them will soon find a new home on my sixty. Prize parts: OEM grill, OEM steering wheel, OEM taillights/corner lights, OEM lic plate assy.

The past two weeks, finished this:

Extremely happy with the seats and Tuffy console. TorFab's brackets are beefy, precision made, and worth every penny.

S,
Yep, see alot of the same stuff I bought earlier this year, but I think you've out whataburgered me here - no messing around on your end....more fun than Christmas as a 10yr old (since you know everything you're getting is just what you want).

But whoa!!!!!where'd you find the new, correct gold AISIN hubs?!?!?! Also seriously thought about getting some new turn signals (front and rear). You found a grill? aftermarket. I went the blackout route, but still cool to see that new chrome. Do I see new tie rods in there as well? You even got a new windshield res. This rig is going to be brand new!

love it, can't wait to see all of this to start going on!

Cheers,

K

Yep, new/correct gold AISIN hubs; new/OEM Chrome grill (wish I could put my hands on a set of dark grey/black headlight surrounds/grill; new/OEM taillights & turn signals, new front end goodies, full vehicle rubber/ws, OEM wiper linkage. . .Christmas it is! I'm ready to get a double garage, yours on one side, mine on the other. . .and since we won't be allowed back in our houses, bring your cot!

And yes, it'll be fun. . .and hectic. . .and fun. . .and hectic =)

Nice to see you post back up Shane.

:)

OMG. . .I'll have to tell you over the phone what I want to post here but suffice it to say. . .really glad to hear from you. BTW - I have 3 packages at my house with your name on them. . .and a little extra dust on each one, lol.

HA!
Where'd you get the hubs...didn't know you could still get them new. Great all on getting all the new ws. Mine looked great until I got the new stuff, really seals the rigs up much better. Not sure if you're planning to keep the chrome...but if you decide to black it out using the black lockout strips seals the windows up much tighter than the chrome.

Dammit, this is going to end up making me spend more $ :flipoff2: HA!

We'll need full pimped out shop! ...Lets call J and get this done!

Hubs. . .loose lips sink ships, lol. Aside from sounding a wind tunnel test vehicle, she leaks a little into the lower floor channels at present. It's killing me not to install the ws'ing now but I'm worried that'll I'll break something when it comes time to pull everything off for the repaint.

What do you mean by 'using the black lockout strips'? What are the black lockout strips? I think I have chrome. . .can the chrome be removed or if I wanted to go that way, would I need to buy new black lockout strips?

We can call J. . .and all 3 of us just move in with Beno. The savings on our mortgages should be enough to build a new PIMP'd garage!

for the windshield, quarter panels and rear hatch you replace the chrome locking strip with this stuff. http://wagongear.com/shop/window-welt/
I bought mine from Kevin when I got my rear hatch, but i know most glass places carry it. Give Tor a call, i'm sure he'd be able to get some. you just slide this stuff in (using a TON of silicone spray lubricant). and it locks all the gaskets up MUCH tighter. Should take you about 10 min per window. Definitely wait to install all your ws until after the respray if you're going to do one.

I went through a bunch of pics of members' rigs - I agree, the blackout look is the way to go. I emailed Kevin but I think he's closed up shop for a bit. I'll give Tor a call to see if he can put his hands on some of the stuff. Thanks for the info/tutoring =)
