Great job:cheers:

I'm glad the Al's worked out for you. It's very different than paint in the way it builds up on itself and creates dimples. I guess the key is to go slow??

Mike,
If you are asking about the texture of the liner and how it is "finer" on my drawers than what is on your wheels, going slower is not what achieves this. It all has to do with the volume of material being delivered and the volume of air. If you use the hopper, opening the gun (turn threaded adjustment counter-clockwise) will allow a full trigger pull and let more material flow through. This along with low psi will give a heavy texture (large dots). For a fine or light texture (orangepeel), just close the adjustment and increase the psi. It is a good idea to try a sample or two on a piece of cardboard to find the look you want. I went with a medium orangepeel on my drawers, but a light orangepeel when I used the leftovers to spray my roof rails. HTH

Derrick,
Great work! The finish came out really well and looks great in this application.

I did spend more than I had anticipated. The slides were alot more than I expected at $250 plus $50 for shipping because they weigh 46lbs for 2 pair. With the Al's liner I really didn't need that nice of grade of plywood but I prefer the denseness of the higher quality plywood. Also, I purchased most of my hardware at my local ACE Hardware which I know is a bit more than HD or Lowes. All in all I am very happy because it was still cheaper than buying these already built, I got exactly what I wanted, plus I had a heck of alot of fun working on these. I look forward to seeing other's build threads because seeing recent ones is what got me motivated. to all for their comments.

wow.. that looks very clean and professional !!!
Great work !!

Accessorize it!

Last night in my haste to clean up the tremendous mess I made in the garage over the last 2 weeks, I forgot about a very important accessory...the new bottle opener that came with my recent purchase of a Bump It Offroad front tube bumper (thanks for the bonus gift Mike!) So when I got home I went right at it...installed and TESTED it! Ahhhh, now to enjoy the fruits of my labor :hillbilly:

Modelo especial, very nice, I like the Negro modelo myself.

Oh and the drawers look fantastic. The more of these threads I see the more I think I need to ditch the 3rd Row.

Cheers:beer:

Now that is a nice finishing touch to a very nice drawer system Derrick.

I love the action shots. How many takes until you got it captured on film? :hmm::beer::beer::beer:

Seriously though, looks awesome. Very well done!

Dude....

Your craftsmanship is extraordinary. You are an inspiration to all Mudderz. Really great work. Mahalo for sharing!

A set of drawers is definitely on my build list. If they turn out half as nice as yours i'll be happy as hell! Sweet build and fantastic design.

Thanks for the comments guys . As far as the design goes, Like most things here on MUD, I get my ideas from other people here on this great forum. There is a wealth of knowledge that is shared here. Most of the credit for these drawers should go to 619TOY. I was inspired by his drawer build thread that I included in my first post (Thanks Steve).

Super amazed.

I have to say that these look amazing! I am looking to build a set muself here soon (not quite as fancy) and i was wondering how you get the measuerment for the top towards the back where the sides move in towards the middle. I really want something that goeas all the way across but can't figure out a good way to measure/map that out. any suggestions? appreciate the help.

Great job. Your finished product is so professional that it looks like you do this for a living.
