JB Welded the lower heater hard pipe since replacements are no longer available.

I had good success doing this on my 60. Hope this turns out as good.

Thanks. Good to know.

I just used what I had in the pantry.

I used the same vinegar when I flushed the 2F in my 60 last year to good results.

My coolant wasn't too bad. The block drain was the worst and was likely never cleaned out based on a previous post.

It looks like the water pump had been replaced at some point as it looked newer and most of the hoses had been previously replaced.

However, I will run it all through a strainer to check for sediment and rust debris. If it's crudy, I'll grab some 30% and repeat.

I suffer from "while your in there-itis"
Swapped out my bad 40 AC compressor (shown still installed) for a good used 60 one.

Swapped out the fuel filter since I had easy access to it with a taller 60 series filter.
It was time, it was NASTY. Looks like cleaning or replacing the fuel tank will be my next project.

I gave away my spare 60 series fuel filter to a new Landcruiser owner at the Relic Run who needed one and the cruiser gods repaid my karma with a free filter from Toyota Matt, with my last order, thanks!

You also made him install it then and there!!

Replaced the passenger firewall wiring harness grommet and the rear heater firewall grommet.

The wire harness grommet was shot but the heater grommet wasn't too bad. I was replacing the heater and adding late model rear heater pipes anyway so might as well replace it.

Had to de-pin three connectors. Just sharpied the colors on the connector. Time consuming but an easy win for the day.

I even rewrapped with yellow electrical tape for that original look.

I forgot to mention earlier, the lower heater pipes are coming very soon. In stainless. Do you need a 1st article to test fit? :)

I cleaned up the late model rear heater lines that I got from @3_puppies
Same treatment as the firewall pipes.

Installed them with some new hose (new Toyota hose at the heater connections and Gates 1/2" for the rear heater).
I had some zinc plated hose clamps and used those too.

The heater box I installed is from a later model, perhaps '81 or later.
I got it from @Wadesters awhile back and it was already refurbished and ready to install.

There are some differences between the two; the plates that mount it to the firewall are tapered and have a spacer welded to them & the floor heat deflectors are plastic and screwed on vs. the welded on metal ones from my '79
