Well I too have decided to do some bad Mirosoft Paint photo chopping and create my Dream Tow Rig.

A Cummins 6BT, Auto tranny with an overdrive, big ass hitch and ARB on the front.

Opnions are like ass holes, everyone has one and they all stink.

So lets hear your ass holes. :flipoff2:

if ya feel like doin a little more editing, i have a dream someday for mine. if you bring the rear fender right up to the door then take off about half the overhang you'll get the idea.

Negative Ghost Rider.

I have yet another fun filled weekend with the Marines. Only 1 year and 3 months to go. But who's counting. :D

thats it,,,,, i'm not sure though seeing it now, hmmm. my idea has been to slide the rear axle back to kill two bird with one stone, one of them being to fit bigger tires w/o cutting into the doors, the other is reducing rear overhang.

Okay I make a few more adjustments. This one has the original body length, so all the glass remains the same. The axel is just moved back for better towing, rear door botttom enlarged so it is easier for the kiddies to get in and out.

i'm glad you did this, i now know that i wouldnt like it if i actually had gone and done it, so, i will stick to the other plan and just move the axle back about 6-8" and still have some wheelwell in the door.

I like the top two the best.

The second one probably more than the first, but that's a whole 'nother sectioning job to do after the first. The window would be spendy, but do-able. The window gasket might not.

Unless you left everything above the body line alone and just played with the wheel well. That would be the third pic. eh? I don't like it as well.

Hmmmm.....

I messed with it a bit in ImageForge. I think it would be OK with the length added to the C pillar

Okay I just did alittle more. This is stock length with the wheel well moved back and the door done a little differntly. one is a curve and the other is a strait line. which do you guys like better?

I like the straight line in the bottom photo. It would be easier to do, and since it isn't butted up against the wheel well there is no need to have the curve. As it sits stretched, what is the wheelbase? Around 118"-120"? I do love the idea and wish I had talent so that I could have done that with my truck. I think that someone with some good body working skills needs to move the wheel well back and enlarge the rear wheel opening. Without it 37"-38" are about as large a tire as you can stuff in the rear.

I dont think I would want to go any bigger than 35's as a strict tow rig. Even that would be pushing it IMO.

It is 121.5 inches give or take one or two.

How about stretched doors?

Now theres no fabricating inner door frames. I was thinking about how hard that would be on the back door because there's nothing you could cut from a donor vehicle. you'd have to make a pretty complicated piece from scratch. i was looking at 80s and 100s. They have the wheel well into the door as well, so I was thinking where did they get the added wheelbase. had to be in the doors.

This pic has a lot more than the 10" I need, I think.

You would also have to stretch the body in 2 different places. Once at each door. Just doubled the ammount of spot welds in the body.
