Has anybody done a 2 barrel motorcraft carb conversion on a F engine before. If so, is there any special parts needed to do the swap or is the F engine's intake to carb pattern the same? Any advice or input would be helpful. Thanks.;p

Go with a stock Aisin or a holley. I have had nothing but bad experiences with anything else and hear very little good about anything else on this board.

That's nicer than what I was gonna say...

I ran a motorcraft on my F years ago (97?). It was okay, but I completely agree with running a well tuned factory Aisin carb. Much nicer offroad, much cleaner than all the associated crap with the motorcraft.

Clemson- IIRC the motorcraft is a holly copy. Regardless, go Aisin!

ridgerunner the important word in your statement is copy. Copy = cheap knockoff, lower quality. Nothing beats an aisin though mine that mark rebuilt is great it runs perfect and my engine sounds better then ever before.

With the carb itself I never really had any problem except is a holly design, and the holly wasn't designed for a Cruiser. ;)

Unless you want to run a quarter mile at a time, do not put a Holley on a cruiser.

The Motorcraft doesn't even deserve that much.

Aisen, unless you're running a small block, then go quadrajunk.

Anybody ever put a dualjet on a 2F? never mind. just put an asian on it

Nope, but I have a Rochester on mine with 42.5 mm throttle bores that totally kicks a$$. Does great on road and off. The thing about carbs is that you can get most anything to work, but most people have no idea what they're doing when it comes to carbs, Aisins or anything else. It's one of the reasons why everyone here has to send their Aisins to Jim C. so he can fix em up for them.

S'cuse me, you talkin' to me? I know you're not talking to me.

ive put carter on my old 40 worked great .once in awhile had to change the intake gaskets .little drilling required but i liked it also put holley2100 0n my cruiser changed jets ran really high on the juice:D my buddy milled me a adapter plate. so there is people do have the abilty to modify and try new things but i still like the f carb the best. can still do a general rebuild on the fender next to interstate 77:hillbilly .long story:beer:
