But is anyone else more than a little tired of this tit-for-tat back and forth one-upmanship that seems to have devolved into something other than welding?
Yes. This just feels like we're watching two men drop trou and do the helicopter with their welding whips to see who's spins in a larger radius.

Yeah why not, doesn't look like we have anything else of value to add...

I wouldn't post pictures of that weld on my social media if I was in Instagram welder..
Even though I didn't weld this it's not bad in person, I've definitely seen worse by professional shops that charge big money..

The funky spot in the photos is a transition between two welds, one on the doubler plate and one on the tube..

I’ve seen a number of cases where both licensed trades (e.g. electricians, plumbers,…) and licensed professionals (e.g. lawyers, CPAs, engineers, doctors,…) charge for 💩 work.

I’m sure you have as well.

It looked like there was a lot of undercut in that picture, but you’re there.

Typical MIG weld. Looks honest enough …

Interested in these TRE’s.
Is all the steering hardware TEQ or some equivalent?

There was a conversation not too long ago about Chinese rubber parts. All the boots on the TRE’s that I got with the Ruff Stuff steering linkage kit have cracked out - sitting in shade, and zero miles on them.

Yikes!

I’m at the same mileage as you Rush…I’ll have to see what mine are doing 🤷🏼‍♂️
