I asked him about the tool bag he said he has it somewhere, maybe he will bring it today.

Ask him whats the deal with the embossing tape! :) That's a nice Cruiser you picked up, you will enjoy it immensely!
One thing I noticed that might be something to look at is the frame. Take a close look where the plow was mounted for cracks or other visible defects. Probably not an issue, since FJ40 frames are stout, but better to be safe.

He told me to get the holes plugged or have a plate welded on. He was sad today. He said ohh man i miss that thing and that he is regretting selling it. He did say he thinks it got a good home. For a tiny sec i felt bad. But its mine now.

If he still has the snowplow/brackets/wiring/etc, I might be willing to take it off his hands..... ;)

The plow is gone. I have all the wiring and control stuff still on the cruiser. I don't want the back window defroster either. You can have that stuff if u want it.

He labels everything. Seems really organized. He is Japanese so that might explain it.

Sellers remorse, I had it when I sold my first FJ40. I still miss that rig.

That FJ40 is now all yours to enjoy and make memories. Make them all happy!

There is also an electrical heater that heats the engine in the cold on there too.

That appears to be a solenoid for the snow plow hydraulics. The thick black wire at the bottom of your pic probably goes to the snowplow motor (or did.....).

Has the wiring harness completely melted through (bundle of wires above the solenoid)? That can be relatively common on a snowplow running the stock alternator......ask me how I know (or look at the smoke stains on the side of my rig).

Thanks...so it can be removed then...I don't want anything in there that isn't doing something.

I'd get it running before you start removing stuff. You never know how the wiring is set up and you want to make sure it still starts and runs after you remove PO-installed wiring.

Well see what happens tomorrow when I put the battery in.

I kind of agree. Do one thing at a time to make trouble shooting easier. The wiring is likely to be hacked. Since you didn't do it, you don't know the logic. Wiring from previous owners, is one of the most difficult things to work around.

I'm going to bet, that this truck needs to be re-wired form front to back. You are in the good zone for some help from Coolerman. I think he makes new harnesses for this year.

X2 on getting it running before thinking of tearing into it
