Just toss the aussie into the rear and you should be good to go.

I ran a lockrite in the rear for a year and hated it.. I had to go around corners very slow or it would jam really bad. It's sitting on the bench now. Arbs will come one day but that's going to take some time.Just toss the aussie into the rear and you should be good to go.

honestly i only remember having to use lockers a few times over seas. All trips I've taken in Texas with Big Red, I manage just fine without them. Having said that you only need to be stuck once until you really appreciate the value of a locker. Until then, I'm just gonna wheel in groups.
You must have gotten a new prototypethats weird, my rear aussie clicked a little bit but never bucked around in the corners![]()
Rolling with a group is definitely cheaper.. Problem is all of my buddies that wheel drive those ugly things that chrysler makes.. I think they are called heeps or somethingSo i can't risk getting stuck around them
Thank you for your service by the way. I really respect that, and have plans on joining the military after college.

Sounds like a plan too me! And I do agree all my friends that drive jeeps think they are on top of the world. It's a great feeling when I can out perform them in a 20+ year old rig!no need to thank me, I enjoyed every moment of it ( now looking back, probably not during some of it). When we meet we can talk about what you want to do and I'll give you the real deal, not the recruiter/movie version.
Wheeling with jeeps is fun, cause they get to see first hand why they are inferior.

I think it has a lot to do with personal preference. I just didn't like hearing a loud pop every time I made a turn. And the clicking noise got annoying..Ditto. I have an Aussie in the rear end of my pick up, and I hate it. I'm going to replace it with an ARB.

It's really the only way to go for a multi purpose rig. It's on my to-do list!I agree.. When I get around to my complete restore I am seriously contemplating front and rear ARB air lockers in Goss.J
Thank you! I am really pleased with the SO conversion. And I do not have one on there.. I've been looking at the one that ruffstuff sells. It looks pretty nice. MjTruck looks good . Can't tell if you have a anti wrap bar in the back ? Might be something to think about if you don't have one . I don't have one in my 60 yet but I don't wheel it hard at all . On my list though .
So your saying that if the end of the new axle shaft strips they won't warranty it? Didn't know that.. I will have to check those inner hub gears. You should get hub gears from Longfield as well if you didn't . If you strip all the splines off the end they won't warranty it unless you have chromoly hub gears . That is what happens when you break a stock one .
Ya it's not a pleasant experience, especially if you DD your rig.Apparently rear mechanical locker cornering effects are only apparent in manual transmission trucks, not automatic. I drove a H55 equipped 62 with a rear Lock-right the other day and turned a tight corner and the whole truck bucked hard three or four times, I was told it wouldn't happen in a auto.
