Thank's Ryan. I've been keeping up with your build, I bet your finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Thanks Patrick! Finally up in the big tire club with you. 37s are the new 35s right?? Dude I wish, I drool over the look of those rims on Woody... What made you decide to sell?

I can't take the creds for the avatar pic, but I agree it is pretty awesome!

Im selling because every time i look at them I'm just a tiny bit disappointed about the overall look. I never felt that way with the fj steelies, so ill just go back to them... or get some TR beadlocks... to BTR's... or idk what

I feel ya. They do look a tad bit "modern" for our boxy rigs lol. I'm a big fan of the Walker Evans BLs on 60s, but they are so expensive for something that is going to get thrashed. Can't go wrong with steelies man. I almost got some FJ cruiser ones like your old set since I could get them dirt cheap at work but I wanted a little bit more offset. Are you going back to those?

i have a friend who just got WE's on his fj cruiser... so nice... until he sprayed them black! Anyway, yes I'm going back to the fj steelies... i waste money on different things now... breitlings and submariners LOL.

What a shame... And solid choice, I liked that look when you had them on. More of a timex guy myself, cheap and durable :D

its getting there. I just hate having to wait on parts and getting work done by someone else. Oh well, I've got other things to do to keep me busy on it.

Yea that's the worst.. The key is your moving foreword :)

I'm very impressed with them. Smooth and quite on the road and no typical mud terrain "hop" from 0-15mph which is nice. But one thing to note is they are very heavy...

How much they weight .. ? coz Toyo Open Country MT are heavy as hell and I like those a lot !

I don't have an actual measurement and nothing really to compare too. But the grabbers are known to have a thick compound. They might not be a good choice for you down in mud country though... more of a sand, rock, dirt tire.

MJ, been awhile since I looked at your thread. When you did your MC hysteer, did you use any type of steering stabilizer?

Hey Ryan, I have a hydro-assist setup from West Texas Offroad. It is basically a hydraulic damper that is connected to my power steering box. Helps out a lot with bump-steer and turning the wheels off-road with a locker.

Cool MJ, could you post up some pictures of your set-up

Hey man, sorry I'm in Colorado on a ski trip. I'll try and get one tomorrow for ya, but it might be easier to look up @robustbambi 's build since he has the same setup me.

Shoot me a pm and I'll try and get whatever shots you need tomorrow

Haven't done an update in a while, but now that I am back in Panhandle of Texas I have some time.. So here is a condensed version with a lot of pictures!

For starters, I have actually seen quite a few 60 series LC's in the wild while only being in Lubbock for spring semester thus far:

The "TRD" sticker made me laugh..

@SAM62 's super clean FJ62 with just north of 60k on the odometer! Had to take a distant picture in order not to embarrass my hunk of steel :)

Then for Spring Break I took the cruiser to Glenwood Springs, CO for some skiing. And I must say the General Grabbers did very well in icy conditions. I think it is a fallacy that mud terrains are "terrible" on icy roads.

Then I drove from Glenwood Springs,CO all the way to the little town of Mason, TX for the LSLC roundup which was an absolute blast!

Poser shot with @The Phoenician , our rigs are basically twins, but his has to wear glasses..

Some more pictures from the Roundup:

My dad drove the '84 FJ60 that I picked up in CO super cheap last Fall to the Roundup, I was surprised that it passed inspection lol.

And a little of topic, but I am lucky enough to be able to work part time at the local Toyota dealership as an "intern technician". It's defiantly nice being able to take a break from studying Calc 3, Physics and the other brain mushing ME courses that I have to take and turn some wrenches.

The guy who I am shadowing is a Master Technician who has been in the game for 25+ years.. Talk about experience. He recalls working on older land cruisers back when he was younger which is pretty awesome. Needless to say I pick his brain quite often in regards to what working on a 60 series was like when they were fresh off the lot.. If only.

Working on the newer Toyotas can be somewhat frustrating but I have to admit technology has done some wonders in the automotive industry. Here is a pick of me goofing off after we did an engine swap on an early Tundra. Got the sucker out and back running with it's "new" junkyard motor in around 5.5 hours!

And last one because I am having remorse about not snagging it up...

This '02 Taco came in on a trade w/ 144k on the clock, 1-owner, 5-speed, 4wd, SR5 package with manual windows, doors, etc. It was a steal...

That's it with the mass update. The next one will be in July after I go explore the Alpine Loop and neighboring trails in Colorado!
