Hmmm

Hey syrinxstar -

Don't get your panties in a bunch. If you don't like it, then just don't read the string. Forums are meant for open communication. Thank you for stating the obvious and of course there is a second side to every story; I'd really love to hear it. But, you are right, perhaps this would be better in the chat section.

mattorton- These forums aren't meant for this- if you have a problem with a company, don't air your dirty laundry in public. Give the owner a chance one-on-one on the phone. Have you even tried talking to the OWNER of MAF on the phone about these specific problems and requesting a refund? This is really getting ridiculous- ganging up on him in a public forum is in bad taste at best and cowardly at worst.

Alaskacruiser,

Come on, I was on the phone with the owner Al and sending email back and forth so many times I lost track. They offered to do nothing. I think after spending thousands of dollars with this company, I am entitled to an opinion. This seems to be the only way to get their attention. Frankly I could care less about a refund or the money - it is the point. 1) Stand behind you products 2) Treat your customers as allies as you would cease to exist without them

Perhaps you should let the owner defend himself. Calling somone a coward on a forum is about the most cowardly thing one can do. If this isn't appropriate for this forum, then I'm sure the moderator will take it down.

I will post no more on this thread as I am obviously offending. PM me if you have issue with what I've written.

The internet is a good equalizer between vendors and consumers. In the past it was difficult for consumers to acquire a good understanding of the real world performance of products and vendors. I am always interested to get more information from both vendors and customers regarding the quality and performance of the firm and it's products. I don't believe there is any inherent reason why this info shouldn't be shared with other interested parties.

Hey Matt,
Too be honest I do not know much about your issue, but I agree with the other people here, you should call me or send me a PM. I would like to hear the full story. Depending on how long ago it happened, and what actually happened, I will see what I can do. Thank you everyone for your support. Steve.

If anyone is interested, here is my update with mattorton. Unfortunately we were unable to work out our differences. To sum it all up, Matt had requested that I refund him for parts the he had purchased from other companies a little over two years ago. I am unable to do this of course, due to the time frame and how he bought the parts from someone else. I offered to try and mend future business with discounts or something of that nature but he was not interested. After he had a lift kit installed, we made the mistake of throwing out his old sway bars here in the shop, and we are deeply sorry about it. There of course is more to the story, but I thought I would lay down the basic facts. I would love to help him out, but there is nothing I can do. Sorry Matt, Steve.

Bought my snorkel from Man-a-Fre, person there seem really knowledgeable(did I spell that right ? :flipoff2: ), after slee did not answer phone :) , any ways there coo I guess.

I have to admit I am changing my mind about MAF for the better. Steve-O's presence on this Board is a big part of this. 3 weeks ago I called MAF about a part, didn't like the answer I got, and was upset due to a pretty simple misundestanding. I posted my problems in a forum and Steve-O was right there to corect my problem. I decided not to go through with the order, but it wasn't MAF fault they did there best to try and help. Maybe in the future I will re-order what I need.

I just wanted to make a public appology to Steve-O for the trouble that I gave him in a different thread. Thanks for going out of your way to correct my order and I am sorry, I cancelled. If given a couple of days to cool off and re-think things I would probably have a MAF bumper right now.

Thanks Again,
Ryan Scott.

Steve-0,

I was asking only that you replace what you took. Your attempts at "resolving" were nothing more than a sad attempt at weaseling your way out the situation. I could less at this point.

But, here's my mobile for future reference:

Matt,
I am not really sure what your talking about. What we took was your stock sway bars, but we put on heavy duty sway bars.... Then you called back later looking for your old ones, but we accidently threw them out. Sorry. Then you bought bushings straight from Australia, and OEM sway bars straight from Toyota. Keep in mind that this all happened almost 3 years ago. When I offered to help in future orders, you said no. I cant refund you for something you bought somewhere else! Would you like me to find some used oem sway bars? I can do that.

I've dealt with both Man-a-Fre and Slee.

Regarding Man-A-Fre: I purchased a basic Garvin grille guard, specified for a 93-97, but that was incorrect. It only fit a 91-92. What did they do? They gave me the grille guard, free. I ordered another grille guard, again specified for a 93-97. It did not fit either. It was also for a 91-92. What did they do? They regretted the problem and paid the return shipment costs and refunded my money promptly. Both purchases were made via the "Garage Sale" web page that clearly states "no refund is given for garage sale purchases." While they mislabeled the items purchased, they did all they could do to right the problem. That is what I call "excellent" customer service. I will buy from them again.

Regarding SLEE: all hits, all runs, no errors. They installed a lift, axle rebuild, and repaired a blown head gasket. Purchased sliders, other stuff. Every time I've called them, for whatever reason, they have always gone the full distance to assist me. I've not called Man-A-Fre for advice or help, yet, so I have no comment one way or the other.

I am lucky to live just two hours from SLEE, which is why I have leaned on them so much. :D :D :D

No Steve - I asked that my stock sway bars be put in the back of my Cruiser while I was down there having the job done. I bought bushings straight from Australia because your guys screwed up so many times, I had to do it myself to get it right.

Just let it go man. Thank you for the offer, but --- come on --- what am I gonna do with another set of OEM sway bars. Why don't you make a contribution to this site instead.
