Thanks Tapage,

You are absolutely right. I just looked it up on Optima's website and they suggest that a winch is only connected to the "automotive posts" Below is directly from their site. I will need to change that.

"3.Side Terminals – OPTIMA 34/78, D34/78, 75/25 and D75/25 batteries have both top and side terminals. If you are using one of these batteries in a vehicle that uses the top terminals, it is important to ensure that the side terminals can not come into contact with anything metallic (for example, the firewall or fender well), thereby causing a short. We suggest keeping the post protectors on the terminals you are not using. A winch should only be connected to the automotive posts."

Have been discused that front optima ports aren't for huge loads .. that's what I got you must confirm it .. just hint for you.

notice any difference with the Slee harness? brighter lights ? do you have before and afters?

I do not have before and afters unfortunately, but they do seem quite a bit brighter. but I also went to brighter bulbs, one of the big draws for me was ease of using the Aux light harness to do my aux lights.

Is it just me or is it really hard to find people that do good work anymore. I am going to try and withhold judgement until they are finished but I took the LX into a local stereo shop to have them do the vinyl and fiberglass work for my stereo install and so far it has been a little disappointing.

In one full day they removed the drivers side door panel, and dynamat'd it. As well as built one of the rear rings and covered them in a vinyl, that doesn't really match anything in the truck. So 8 hours for a ring and 1 door dynamat'd. Lets hope things improve drastically tomorrow.

Tuffy comparison

I wanted to get a new center console since I removed the sub and 6 disc changer and I wanted to use the space. Well I know that a lot of people have used the 8" Tuffy Console, with good luck so I researched it and the Tan/Camel was supposed to be the best match for the LX450 interior. It is no longer made so I spent a day tracking it down calling all the suppliers for Tuffy I could find and I finally found one that said they had (1) in stock..... well it gets here and I think it is the spice color that is still in production. ha! It isn't too bad, I will have to see how it fits in with the rest of the interior.

GT443,

Do you have pics of your liner being sprayed out to the rails? I was thinking about doing the rain channel, are you saying you had liner wrapped all the way around the rail?

Thanks!
Ryan

Sorry missed your post. I will get you a pic of it. Imo this is a great solution to prevent rusting of the rails. Plus I never have to wash up there again!

Stereo

Well I jumped the gun the shop noticed the problem and changed vinyls so it looks much closer.

The rear box is a little larger then I expected but I picked a bigger sub. They have a really nice trim ring that is going all the way around it. It will look nice. While they continue to work on the front door fiberglass pods it should be getting Line-x'd tomorrow. They couldn't look up the C14 trim color in the Line-x database so I took one of the old flares off and they took it to the Line-x color depot and had it scanned and custom color mixed. Pretty excited about this next part.

Looking good, that line-x is a bit darker than I would have thought. I cant wait to do that to mine. I may try a light gray for the liner (same body colour as yours).

Cant wait to watch this come together its like my plans on fast forward.

Wheelingnoob,

It is an awesome color and you really can't get it from a picture but it totally changes how it looks depending on light just like the original champagne color.

I added a couple pics to try and show that. You can really see it in the 3/4 from back photo.

HA! you are right! I only saw the one shaded photo the first time, I think that colour looks great in the sun just what I was looking for! Thanks for testing it out for me :p

p.s. PM me with the cost if you do not mind?

Ryan... For someone who wasn't going to spend a lot of money on your 80 .....you have gone mad and mad in a fast way ...... Did you show someone my speaker pods? Love the build keep the pic's coming

Lou,

That is exactly what I did! I thought yours looked great, but I knew I didn't have the space, time or ability to do something like that so I took it to some professionals. They turned out pretty nice, I do have a little clearance issue that makes the front doors a little tight to close, so I am going to take them back in and have them thin the outer edge a little. I will get some better pics of them installed tomorrow. The Sub I picked was a really thick JL Audio sub so the box protrudes into the cargo area. But I am going to try and get a rear tire carrier that uses the passenger side 3rd row seat mounting bolts so it should be pretty concealed.

Ryan.. That's the same plan I have for my sub box... I had to vent my box because it was to small.. So the plan this winter is too extend it into the cargo area about two inches, like yours . Will they be able to pull the vinyl back and trim or will they need to rebuild them? In the picture below you can see that mine are back about 3/4 from the edge and about the same on the bottom edge... My only issue was the dash clearance that I talked about I my build ....wait to they hook everything up ..... You will be shocked by the quality of the sound those front pods produce...

Can you ask your guys what they would charge me for the same box .. Cut for a 10 inch Alpine ... In the raw state .... I can finish it... That would save me a lot of time

I used the IPF X91 for lows and the IPF H4 Fatboy for hi's and I agree it is a nice change brights really light things up, but I think I have another thing in the works for lots more light.

Ryan

Here the fix Depo HID Projectors and a Ridge 20 inch. The Depo HID's alone are as bright as my LED headlights on my CT in low beam but the high beams are much better then the CT ... Do to the fact I have four high beams firing with this conversion

Oh yeah Lou,

Everything is hooked up, it sounds awesome! They said they have never heard a truck sound as solid. I attribute it to the weight and then all the sound deadening. I will ask them about the box. I will also get you a new picture, they put a fiberglass trim ring around the box and it looks nice.

I am hoping they can just pull the vinyl back, I really don't know. I would think that they could get the vinyl off and then just recover?

I saw your lights and they look great! I do love those DEPO lights but the LX grill won't fit those lights unless I swap the gill and headlight surrounds to the Land Cruiser model. I haven't decided if I am going to go through all they trouble. I upgraded the lights with the Slee Harness and the high output bulbs and it seems pretty bright...... I am going to do some type of LED lighting as well. Still researching between Rigid and the new Vision X 10W LED's. Lots of options!

I know I said I was going to try and not spend a lot of money on my 80 and I still feel that way, I am going to keep it pretty mild. Did you talk to Lance about regearing vs the supercharger?

Couple more pics

Hey Lou,

Here are a couple more pics of the finished box. I will try and get over there and ask them if they could do another one if you are interested. But I bet with shipping you would be better off just having one made locally?

I am really liking the color of this line-x. I know I am worse then a lady with a new baby.
