Any insight you guys can offer on the LX lift/changes would be much appreciated!

So I just got off the phone with CBI after having a question regarding the 2 different LX roof racks they have. But before I hung up I asked if he knew the plans for this truck. He informed me that the vehicle will make some stops around the world, and then will be destroyed by Lexus after a year. His best guess was because of liability. Although not nearly spec'd out like the Baja builds of the early LX, it does surprise me that this is the plan. Seems like it would be a good Toyota museum piece.

Maybe someone will be able to convince them otherwise.

It's pretty common for these companies to destroy concept cars/test mules. A family friend has his engineering firm in Germany and does a lot of stuff for the big German mobs and they do some amazing proof of concepts/etc just to then destroy the lot.. a few make it to the private museum because they're just too special to get rid of fortunately.

Is that a generic spec Airtec for LC200/LX's or a specific LX 1? mostly asking because finding LX570/stuff to suit 3UR is near on impossible here in Aus it seems

He made a few comments about the necessary mods back on page 4 - it’s a stock LC part.

o I just got off the phone with CBI after having a question regarding the 2 different LX roof racks they have.

what's the difference? I have the "old" lx prinsu rack.

he said that there were new mounting dimensions for the 16+. so essentially a 2008-2015 rack and a 2016-present. The one on the J201 looks to come forward closer to the windshield than the one on my 2010.

Is the LC200 variant we modified to fit the LX570 fender/hood.

I wish cbi would start a pre-order for the ladders and under armor over the front bumper. It makes no sense from a owner point to void my platinum warranty. I still have 8 years/100k, these rigs are fairly new. With that said the rear should be available first. It has more praticle use and marketing opportunities for aftermarket toys.

How would a bumper void your warranty?

Let me retract myself on that. What I want to say is if anything happens in the park sensor area it might not be honor by lexus. The sensor itself would need to be calibrated to the new cover and i doubt any dealership would do it. Also with the rear bumper you will lose if not have a malfunction to the blind spot monitor system. They are calibrated to oem bumper and refinish thickness.

Hey Kurt
I heard back from your crew that you guys aren’t doing these (s/c) at this time. Any idea when that might change? I’d like to knock everything out at once, if possible of course.

Sorry, miscommunication there. When you asked "could what you did with the s/c be done again?" I didn't mean to infer we were doing them, just that it's entirely doable for anyone that really wants it. We don't have the bandwidth to offer those as installs at this time. There is additional time/tuning that need to take place and without having the vehicle for an extended period of time and ideally a local customer, it's not one we are interested in trying to offer as a long distance project if that makes sense.

Yea sorry thats my fault for not being clear :) I sent you a message so as to not clog this thread :)

It's just plug and play. No calibration needed.

Not the greatest photo but a good comparison of the Airtec vs Safari and the two different CBI bumpers.

After scouring the threads I have seen instances of using a CBI 200 LC front bumper on an LX, but not anyone using one on a 2016+ LX. I appreciate the engineering that went into the LX specific bumper on the J201, but I would still like further improvements in approach angles (as well as a more traditional appearance). The LC specific bumper has clean lines and the level cut would, in theory, facilitate placement on an LX. Has anyone made this work? Do you have any pics? I have previously mounted an ARB on a 2010 LX, but without an LX template there is a good bit of cut and recut, and difficult to yield the outcome desired, especially with the uprights.

*BTW CBI currently has a Black Friday/ Cyber Monday sale on their 200 series products (including prinsu roof rack).

We used the Airtec (TJM) on this particular build. Mostly because it has a noticably stealthier upper body that attracted our Lexus team members. It also took a great deal of mods to the snorkel body, SAIS system, intake tube, etc to fit BUT not something I wouldn't do again. @bryson and I installed this one and were both quite tickled with the results overall. It fits as good as many Safari, Airtec, OEM snorkel applications. A close eye when at the vehicle will reveal the tweeking we had to do on the snorkel body but again, it turned out great imo.

Do you have direction on what modifications you did to get the TJM snorkel to fit? I was thinking of doing that same thing, any help appreciated :) !
