Ever since I added rear disks, I have never felt comfortable with amt of exposed threads...

searched around for replacements, and read about fj60 studs.

I found these replacement studs a while ago, and finally got them installed :)

morosso 46220 1/2"-20 wheel studs are 3" long...here you can get an idea of how they compare to stock 40 studs.

shoulder length is longer, but the knurl is the same as stock.

since I'm running rear disk brakes, taller shoulder is not an issue.

here they are installed

morroso studs are SAE, so make sure to pickup some new lug-nuts :)

Those are long. I had a similar issue. Between the rear disk and the 1" spacer my studs were too short. I used part 90942-02079 from Toyota and they were perfect.

I used those moroso studs several years ago when i had 1/2 inch homemade aluminum spacers. The knurl went into the spacer with a very tight fit then i used those reallLLLLLY long lug nuts to cover the whole stud.

Steelies and Hub caps would be an issue with those babies...

How many is that for $22?
I believe it is a set of ten. I went in and asked the other day and the guy at the desk was unsure. They are available as singles as well for like $2.50

those taller stockers are fine...just wished they were another 1/4" taller.

take a look at my current front studs, I believe they are the longest 12mm stockers available:

no more Hub Caps, but I am running a stock 60 wheel for my spare...going to have to check.
thanks

Ouch, but at $5 a piece. That's pricey. Why not just use the napa # 610-265 for $1.75?

fronts are done...I like :)

see you on the trail...

Hi All:

Damn Manny, are you gonna run "duelie" wheels on the rear axle? :hillbilly:

Seriously, I've been running the typical "Monte Carlo" type RDB swap for the last two or more years without any issues as to the wheel studs being too short.

Regards,

Alan

o hey those studs were made in the town over from me.. good times.

..ps those are huge!

Manny those ARE huge. I have the exact same problem you have, I'm not comfy with the length front or rear! Question is how much benefit are the Toyota length when you can go all the way with those Morosos. Toys look barely a bit longer I just don't want to pull everything apart to do the install......sheesh! I just got the damn wheels on fer chrissakes!

Does anyone remember the fj80 that lost like 3 or 4 wheel studs after doing rubithon a few years back? That was the deciding factor for me.

There not as expensive as some of you may think:
14.95/5
$2.99 each

I may be wrong, but I believe these studs are higher quality then what you may find at your local parts store.

disadvantage?
you can't run hub-caps

I'll have to get a set of them....15X5=$75, that's some inflation. Oh well, they look damn solid and as an added bonus I can flatten bad guys tires that are chasing me in my 40, trying to run me off the road by bumping me. Just like Speedracer!
