I believe it is a set of ten. I went in and asked the other day and the guy at the desk was unsure. They are available as singles as well for like $2.50

I had to replace a few on my mini truck conversion. The parts girl at the Autozone found me the right ones for $1.77 each. I needed four. i left with a smile on my face and not just because she was a decent looking busty blond that knew something about studs:hillbilly:

Ever since I added rear disks, I have never felt comfortable with amt of exposed threads...

searched around for replacements, and read about fj60 studs.

I found these replacement studs a while ago, and finally got them installed :)

morosso 46220 1/2"-20 wheel studs are 3" long...here you can get an idea of how they compare to stock 40 studs.

shoulder length is longer, but the knurl is the same as stock.

since I'm running rear disk brakes, taller shoulder is not an issue.

here they are installed

morroso studs are SAE, so make sure to pickup some new lug-nuts :)

On steel you need 1/1 diameter vs "exposed" thread. Threading into aluminum you want 1.5/1.

i am sure there are many different situations but I would want to use what OEM stock uses....several threads exposed past the nut, like posted above about 1/1 (diameter/exposed). FWIW:

“How Many Threads Should Be Beyond The Nut?. The answer is: A minimum of two thread pitches should extend beyond the top surface of the nut.”

This is because the thread depth of most nuts is not equal to the diameter of the fastener. Sometimes you will see a heavy duty nut available and it will match. In the case of lug nuts, I have never seen one that was less than diameter of the stud and most certainly longer nuts as well as pretty acorn nuts are options. Only two threads carry the load, the first and last.
