It is really starting to take shape, I'd imagine you've already planned your first outing sometime in the near future!
I have a hope....... I temper hope though after past let downs. We'll see how the next couple weeks pans out.

Nothing lulls a baby to sleep like the thrum of a diesel, lol. Keep at it!

So today I was able to work on the truck all day. At the end of the day it's almost ready to start and take for a drive........ :O

So tomorrow I add oil to the transmission and put on exhaust clamp on the exhaust then see how how it runs. Get a few laps baring any issues up and down my street to get things warm then re torque head studs.

Got the engine started with one crank and idled like a dream! I was actually shocked it kicked off so fast lol.

Everything mechanical is done and it's ready for a drive once I connect my drive shafts tomorrow morning. I still have some clean up inside to do mainly the console and putting the dash back together. I did have some clearance issues with the intake horn and the hood or hood reinforcing rib. I ended having to massaging the rib down with a perciss instrument (hammer) to allow the hood the to close. It's close 1/8th so am planing on further massaging and I'm also going to get a bit taken off the horn.

Heater hoses went in well.

Massaged hood rib.

Lower intercooler brakets I forgot to post yesterday.

I ran the engine up to temp, or atleast till the t stat opened. Tomorrow I need to re torque the ARP's ( suppose to be done after 1 heat cycle). Then attach drives shafts and see if it will move.

Yesterday I had a lot of cleaning up to do on the truck. I started by retorqueing the ARP's all clicked right at 125ft/bs but two took a 1/16th more rotation. I'll have to do it again in 1000kms.

I re ran all the breathers and attached the drive shaft, triple checked all the fluids and most the critical fasteners. From there all that was left was test driving.

It's a beast, man this motor is strong. Transmission shifts perfect, everything worked well, engine has so much power it's impressive. I only took it up and down the street since I do not have insurance on it. I did try it in low range (marlin 3:1 low) and first gear........ Yep that's awesome. Can get out and walk faster lol.

I then spent the rest of the day getting interior back together. I need to get a LHD shifter console and boot. Mine no mater what I do looking like a man dressed in drag. I have already PMed Beno and Dave at Japan 4x4 see who gets back to me.

I still have a few hours of work to do in the interior before I drive it much and hope to do that today. I'm also planing on putting a temp permit on it to do a longer drive.

I'll try and get a video in the next few day. Only issue so far is my tach is not reading correctly. It's very low, I think my crank sensor is too small and not generating enough pulse. I have a plan on rectifying that. If that is the only issue, I'm very happy!

That is awesome, cant wait to see some vids. I am itching to get mine buttoned up too...hopefully I will get it running this weekend.

Good onya!

About this: "I need to get a LHD shifter console and boot." - I got mine, OEM, from CruiserParts. Make sure you get the right color for the console unlike me, the colorblind guy.
You won't be able to get the OAK center console as its been discontinued for some time. You can however get they grey and paint it to match. That is what I am doing.

Yep I already have the paint from another project.

I have a quote from Dave at Japan 4x4 just waiting to make sure it's a LHD one.

They are a little pricey, but in the realm of diesel swaps everything is. It does give the interior a nice finished OEM look.

Been meaning to ask how you mounted your xfer case shifter to the trans, I still need to modify my mount to get it positioned where I want it.
