Slight delay... Zach lost the tranny in his pickup today while we were out in the Puerco. Well technically it didn't die until we were on 528 but the Puerco did it in. I will have to get it running before the 40 can go under the knife.

OOPs..............

I have one good week of modification under my belt. Finally got the pickup out of my way and had some time to do some real work.
High steer and a new steering box so far. I picked up 60 springs from Bionic today and I'm working on the front suspension now. pics coming soon.

OM617 catalytic converter

Hi! your project looks great. I am almost finished with a 1980 Pickup conversion. Question: Does anyone know if I need to add a catalytic converter to my exhaust? I had thought not, but am getting conflicting opinions from others. I live in Oregon. Thanks for helping if you can....

Hover cruiser?

Toybox bolted up

tranny/toybox/transfercase and 4 sticks in the air

I still have a lot to do.

Full floater disk brake rear end :D

using flanges from LCwizard and a spare 40 axle housing I had laying around

You suck. Is the parking brake on the transfer case?

Yes, I do.
The parking brake is still on the transfer case. I have a new Toyota parking brake cable coming that is hopefully long enough to work with the Toybox

Finally, progress that can be seen

FF installed, still waiting on axle shafts :hhmm:

Got the crossmember built finally

and installed

I also got the speedometor hooked up and with the use of a early model parking brake cable, I got the parking brake done also. Overall it has been a very productive couple of days.

one more, make it two more

or maybe three

Very nice. Loving the rubber isolators.....

love the x-member. nice that it goes under the nose cone and has no interference with the drive shaft too.

More goodness today

My torsional crossmember to replace the one that had to go to fit the toybox

I can't believe the beer is not open...............

Nice work......boy you sure are getting your moneys worth on that tubing bender......................Enjoying this third/fourth/ or maybe fifth rebuild.......

Mike

Looks good! How long is the rear drive shaft going to be after adding the toybox?

Vince

It will be 22", I was hoping for 24".
I got the anti wrap bar built and installed yesterday, it kicked my ass so no pictures until tomorrow.

And the world through a 2" hole

Its alive..... not finished but it is alive

Tucker, the horizontal mount has worked out great. I have had zero problems with it and it makes changing the oil incredibly easy.
