Wasn't the FJ Cruiser esp prone to windshield damage as well?

I briefly looked into a windshield film that one could apply but all roads lead to nothing conclusive worth pursuing.

The Fj cruiser windshields are terrible about cracking and chipping. When I daily drove mine I would avoid routes that had speed limits over 55mph for that reason.

I had oem lexus glass put in my gx the first time I cracked a window. About a year later it was cracked again. I got whatever brand safelight installed the next time and have had better luck.

Hopefully they can just replace the glass and be on your way. With my Subaru they insist on "recalibrating" the camera system so a 200 dollar windshield becomes a 1300 dollar windshield.

I suspect that won't be possible with the integrated camera systems for lane assistant, etc. in the windshield. Who would have thought a windshield being that expensive...I also suspect that with these vehicles being this new that you will have a difficult time finding a replacement within a reasonable amount of time.

Doubtful. Had to have this done on my 4Runner. Something to do with the safety sense tech.

Negative. Any modern Toyota/Lexus product requires recalibrating when installing a new windshield. Huge bummer when you find out it will be $1300 for a new windshield.

35s fit easier on stock 250 than 300
They clearly designed the 250 with 35s fitting in mind

But then they decide to sell it with less underbody skid plates vs the 300 and a very underpowered engine (non hybrid 2.4 for our market)

You can add skid plates but the engine is not adequate at all for 2024. They need a solution for something that isn't hybrid powered but with enough power to be respectable in 2024 and that's the 3.5.

It really makes sense why they left the 1gr for the 300.

More changes to the 1958.

For those who don’t know. The wheel arch moldings on the 1958 are different to the LC and FE trim. The 1958 has narrower moldings, giving off the appearance of a narrower body.
The higher trim molding are about an inch wider. Quite a big difference when you install them and see the side by side comparison. Those who are planning to install bigger tires and wheels with more aggressive offsets on base models may want to consider this.

Note: The 1958 mudguards are different to the mudguards for the LC trim. The mudguards for the wider flares are naturally designed to for the wider flare. They are not interchangeable.

Got a rock chip in my windshield this morning myself. Not as bad as yours, but with barely over 400 miles on the odometer, not something I want to see. My normal commute is just city streets, but had an errand that had me taking the highway this morning. Boo.

I know Wranglers and the new Defenders get quite a few rock chips, too. Jeep eventually offered a Gorilla Glass replacement for the Wrangler.

Added these fog light bulbs as well to replace the white LED bulbs. . Plug and play for $65. Great output. Zero room to replace the bulb units either with the front bumper cover on.

Can you tell if there's any good way to add the capacitive phone charger in that spot above the shifter? Speaking, of course, of a 1958 Edition that does not have one from the factory, but installing the part from a Land Cruiser edition (or First Edition) that does.

Looks like it could involve replacing the entire center console trim, but maybe there's something easier than that I'm not aware of.

I think the price for that might be shocking to some.. MSRP for the actuator is around $9,000. Discount sites will be around $6k.

That one is a 6k unit cost. I’m not seeing any capped off wiring harnesses. I’m out on that one.

You would need to add wiring that is not present in a 1958. It would be extremely cost prohibitive.
