The owner of this 250 swapped out the lights. Was a simple plug and play.

*don't mind the different plate number, he changed the number.

This is fun
Going back and forth would feel like owning a new vehicle every now and then.

Also from what owners are saying
It has a much lighter steering than the lc300 thanks to the electronic power steering.
Even though the higher spec 300s have an electric motor assist for the hydraulic power steering, it still can't match the lightness of the 250 steering. Keep in mind the 300 already has much lighter steering vs 200...so that 250 steering must be really light.

That one is a 6k unit cost. I’m not seeing any capped off wiring harnesses. I’m out on that one.
That’s a shame. The Tacoma has the SDM option listed at $1230. Toyota has always been good at pissing off their LC cult following one way or another. I bet it’s an option in the 1958 in 2-5 years.

The Tacoma and LC SDM are most likely the same part number. I got my pricing from the "Tacoma version".

For those wanting to swap trim parts.

Dash Trim Parts

55012-60130-C0 (Trim under driver side vent)
55011-60190-C1 (Dash Trim)
55402-60360-C0 (Knee pad LH)
55403-60360-C0 (Knee pad RH)

Console Trim Parts

58805-60400 (Shifter Bezel)
58903-60D70-CO (Rear Console bezel)
84250-60790-FO (Steering Wheel buttons w/ bezel to match new trim)

I’ll leave pricing out as it will vary depending on region.
I'm looking to replace the hard plastic window ledges and arm rests for the front compartment on my 1958.......wonder if those parts could be replaced with the padded ones from upper trims?

I think the price for that might be shocking to some.. MSRP for the actuator is around $9,000. Discount sites will be around $6k.
That makes KDSS look cheap. I imagine junk yards will have them for a few hundred dollars in a year or two. The electronics should be pretty easy to hack. I'd love to see how well the actuator assembly can be retrofitted to the rear sway bar as well for a double unlock.

How are you liking the KO3? 275/70R18?
Eyeing these for mine.
Happy with them so far. Yes, they're 275/70R18 Load E. Was hesitant to go E rated but the ride isn't much different than the Geolandar X-CVs, surprisingly. It's a little harsher but I don't notice it much anymore after a few hundred miles. They ride nice and cushy aired down to 22-24 psi off road.

One issue so far is they seem hard to balance like the KO2s - there are a lot of weights stuck on some of the wheels, but I didn't hear the tire techs complain about it. I feel like I might have a slight out-of-balance issue with one of them, but haven't had a chance to take it in and have discount tire do a free balance check. A lot of weights on one of them shown here.

One other issue, that I don't really understand, is the TPMS reading seemed spot on with the stock tires, and now it reads about 3-4 psi lower than handheld pressure gauges. The TPMS system allows you to reset the desired psi so I just set it to 30 psi and don't have TPMS warning light issues. It's a little annoying but not a dealbreaker, and it seems that any non stock tire might encounter the same issue. Haven't seen any one else complain of this yet though. I'm a little OCD with tire pressures though, so maybe no one else notices.

-The KO3s lifted it 7/8" over the stock Geolandar 245s.
-Weight of Geolandars with stock wheel was 71 lbs. KO3s are now 91 lbs on stock wheel.
-MPG was reduced about 1mpg best I can tell. That's combined mpg with city, highway (not normal highway miles -- highway elevation changes from 6500' to 10,000' in SW Colorado) and offroad at 10,000' to 12,500' elevation. 20.1 mpg with stock tires. 19.2 mpg with KO3s. I've tracked all fill ups since purchase and that accounts for the odometer adjustment of the larger tires. This also includes the Front Runner Slimline II roof rack installed about halfway through the KO3s life on vehicle.
-Been through some rain with them and had zero traction issues. Tried to hit some standing water, but I really need to hit some large stretches of standing water to see how much they float at highway speeds. From some limited testing they seem to evacuate better than KO2s.

I need to get the KO3s rebalanced too.

Did you replace the spare as well, and if so any issues fitting it underneath?

If you look at LCQ's post history you'll see the same-size spare mounted. Believe it's earlier in this same thread.

Yes same spare KO3. I was shooting for the largest size within reason for spare fitment, mpg, power/gearing, tire weight, ground clearance, and majority road miles.

Looked at AT4W and Baja Boss A/T and Toyo Open Country AT3 as top contenders. Tires are so subjective who really knows. But I settled on the KO3 and it was the right choice for me, for now.

And for anyone wondering, The Tacoma Trail Hunter Transfer case skid is the same as the LC. The Trail Hunter front skid has different venting holes and mounting points compared to the LC.
Did yo try to fit the Trail hunter skid to the LC? The Skids look pretty similar, except for the front edge and the air vents. I was hoping my skids would fit both.

I did try to fit a 2024 TRD Pro Sequoia front skid to the LC, the holes were way off.
