Small changes until the bigger modifications become available. Swapped all the gloss black trim on my 1958 to the silver trim from the LC and FE trim. Also swapped out the dash piece with “Land Cruiser” stamped on it to the padded vinyl wrapped piece from the higher trims. Interior looks much better without all the gloss black. Last item for now was the Toyota skid plates for the engine and transmission. Surprisingly thick metal. Once the A/M has a better stinger solution the OEM heavy duty skid plates will be replaced.

Did your dealer have the parts available in relatively quick order?

Do you have the part numbers for the dash trim? Thinking of doing that and the door cards for the arm rests.

Did you happen to take any photos of the skids backside before install?

The Toyota heavy duty skids are made from 2.5mm(.10") thick stamped steel and are powder coated. They also look like they fit the taco.

Part numbers are:
PT228-60242
PT228-35241

I was able to get all of these parts with 3-5 days. Not too bad considering this platform is so new still.
Were you using your dealer parts counter to find these, and did they give you any trouble about VIN not matching the parts? I’m debating replacing the right knee driver dash trim with the soft touch dash piece.

Not much you can really do about it. I had the same problem with my 4Runner. 3 windshields in 2 years of ownership. 😣
I for one don’t recall windows breaking all the time when I was young. Never had a window break on any of my multiple FJ40s. Yet my Tundra, Sequoia and 100 can’t seem to keep a windshield more than a year. Is it just that they are thinner now?

I’m a parts counter employee at my local dealer. There shouldn’t be an issue with ordering parts that do not correspond to your VIN. Most parts people should know, unfortunately some are highly unmotivated and will tell you they are not able to look up parts without a VIN.

I replaced the knee trim with the padded version as well on mine. Being over 6’ tall, I rest my knee on that trim piece often. It’s much more comfortable now.

If you have parts and costs for all that you replaced, please post them up! It'll benefit all that might want to swap these.

I'm tall too and I'd swap the part where the knee hits to the padded version!

For those wanting to swap trim parts.

I’ll leave pricing out as it will vary depending on region.

Thanks for this info and those trim part numbers. Very helpful. Pretty jealous of your unfettered access to TIS, haha.

I'm gonna pull the trigger on that knee pad. So far it's the most noticeable hard plastic piece.

I was able to sit in and drive my first 2024 LC (1958). I felt some weird surging and pulsing during acceleration and braking. Has anyone else felt this? Felt like warped rotors to me but that certainly couldn't be the cause. On braking, it often made it hard to get the right pressure to come to a stop at the desired point.

Also, I'd need some larger tires to make it a bit easier to get and out of the back. Both the glass and the whole hatch seemed to hit the same height (mind you I"m 6'9" - most of you won't have this issue). Headroom was adequate as was vision height line, but the roof wasn't high enough for a hat and sunglasses. At least the rest of the ergo was good. Armrests felt to be at great heights.

Out the door is like $65k for a base 1958 with only door edge guard and hitch. Taxes are $6k where I am at.

I really wish there were a way to get it with a flat floor (like a GX550) and with an adequate fuel tank. Barring those two items (and the price), it seems like a compelling purchase and would be a great replacement for my 2006 Tundra.

Westcott Designs Moab Cruiser build that was at Overland Expo West and recently at Overland Expo PNW. They used current generation Tundra TRD Pro shocks with some modification to the shock bushings.

The only one that is cooler than this is the Dissent Offroad LC.
