The GX blows really cool ime, faaaaar better than the 100's system in my experience.

We lost AC in my 100 on a trip to Mexico one year. It was pure mutiny :D
Ok that's helpful to know, sounds like I need to go sit in the back of a new GX OT+ and experience it for myself :D

I thought that the GX 550 has 2nd row vents, just not 2nd row vents in the ceiling (which some people are hung up on)?
I'm talking about back row(s) ceiling vents -- and yes, guilty of being hung up on based on my LC100 experience with them -- which admittedly sounds like said experience may not carry over to the new GX.

You are correct. I don't understand the hangup in placement.

I think the bigger difference is the 250s 3 zones vs the GXs 2

I think it's the fact that the 3 zone trucks have a set of vents in the overhead where the third row is - similar to how the current US 460s are, since they're all three row (they also get a second A/C compressor unit in the back). I don't really use it as I don't really use the third row and our dog is small, so she doesn't need to go in the cargo area. I could see that being useful for those that actually really use their third rows (or have a need to A/C the cargo area).

Doesn't the GX have 2nd row vents in the center console? I don't see the issue, but whatever.

The Hybrid battery produce a lot of heat. That is probably why all hybrid got roof vent in cargo area.

....what?

It's almost certainly due to the fact that the controls for the third zone take up the space on the back of the center console where the vents would go.

Yup it does. And although it might be whatever for you, many families including doggos love the AC in the 2 and 3 row positions in the roof.

One of the reasons the 5th gen T4R was always a disappointment even in the Limited version ...

But yeah, different strocks for different folks ! 🫂🌞

Just a major fail by Lexus….

At least one person on this forum that has taken delivery of a production 1958 has posted pics that clearly show 2nd and 3rd row roof vents.
Really!? Wow!! 👏🏿👏🏿🔥🔥🔥.

That is solid. I want the cheap one but av vents only center console had me deciding against it

Thank you!!

Indeed !

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the video and reference and correct my wrong knowledge ! That trim and the color white with all black is so far my favorite...

I gotta say, looking at the video kind of shows what I felt with the GX550 when I sat in the driver's seat: the left foot has very minimal space to rest and it is kind of forced to be located /rested on top of the slant side floor.

Only way to really know how will it feel will be with a good test drive !

Thanks again guys for the clarification ! 👍🏿

@cruiseroutfit, before you get too far into filling the GX with goodies might you have a chance to weigh it? Also is your GVWR 7,165lb and the combined weight shown on your tire sticker? The tire placard I photographed at the Longo event said 1,320lb.

I’m pondering if the tire sticker occupant/cargo load on the tire placard has a reduction to provide the net payload left for a 150lb driver and 1/2 tank of fuel…??. Thx

Updated for clarity.

Math to bridge from the tire placard to the vehicle capacity number on page 552 of the owners manual

…..1,320lb + 150lb driver + 64lb fuel (10.5gallons) = 1,534lb. Pretty close to 1,545lb in table 8.1.
