Hello everybody,

This is my first time posting on this forum, but after extracting so much helpful information from it, I am looking forward to getting involved. I am considering purchasing some lap belts from Specter Off Road (Link Here) because the current seat belts don't catch as quickly as I would like. Do you think these belts would be a hassle or less safe in any way in a daily driver? Thank you.

These are fixed, meaning they don't retract, right? It seems these would be a PITA for a daily driver. Imagine pulling up to the window at Starbucks (or Taco Bell, depending on your preference!) and having to dig into your back pocket for your wallet, or leaning forward to grab your beer off of the dash when the cops roll by, or getting to the glove box for your... well, you get the picture.
Those belts would be safe in a crash I imagine but I wouldn't want them for every day use.

Get new retractable belts from Seatbelt Planet. If you don't mind digging through this thread you can see how I did mine: The Rushing Turdle

I definitely see what you are saying here. If I ever did do it I think it would definitely be for the heck of it or for the novelty of it instead of actually for practicality, haha! Thank you for your help!

I will be sure to take a look on your thread! In the meantime, is Seatbelt Planet available to order parts for cruisers online?

Lap belts are not as safe as shoulder belts. This is indisputable. In a daily driver, you should opt for the safest solution available. This seems to clearly fall into the category of: do it right the first time.

Thank you for your advice @MOCO62
