So knee deep in my resto on my 60 and want to up grade to 62 rear belts and also just get good quality new seat belts all around.

I have an 84 and it seems to have the bolt hole/nut on the C pillar for the shoulder belt, Is there anything I need to modify in order to have rear shoulder belts?

Also where do you guys recommend for good quality seat belts that closest match OEM or can I get new OEM?

Thnx in advance.

I second Seat Belt Planet. I ordered some for the front seats in my early 60 and they're great. The color is very close - I think I went with dark brown and it has a pinch more red in it than the rest of the Toyota interior, but it's difficult to tell unless the belts are in direct sunlight.

I'm also converting my early 60 to rear 3-point harnesses. Here's my list:

SBP belts
FJ62 cargo panels ( I make and sell 60 Series cargo panels, so I'll just take a set from my stock)
Plastic covers for the retractor (also from an FJ62)
FJ62 rear seat back for headrests (I'll transfer my upholstery over so it still matches)
Brown headrests (from a junkyard truck)

I have everything except the plastic covers and those are in the mail. Admittedly it can be done without going to these lengths, but this is how I am.

The piece of the puzzle I'm not sure about is mounting the retractors. I've seen some posts on here where there's no mounting point, or the sheet metal is different than on the later trucks that came with the second row 3-point harnesses. I'm also not sure if the stock 62 plastic covers will fit over the SBP retractors. I've seen some photos on here where people hack up the body work to recess the retractors and I may do the same. I may draw up a little adapter bracket in CAD that acts as a mounting plate and recesses into a hole I cut, just to make it a little more organized looking. That's the only thing that might be a can of worms, other than the upholstery which has been finicky but not difficult.

Thank you for all the input. I didn't realize that I would need to cut the body to fit the retractor. Going to have to do some figuring.

I did what @CruiserTrash did and have a 62 seat back in my 60 so could have headrests back there. Nice upgrade, especially when the kids are riding back there.
