Hi,
I have an FJ60 1984.
I use it 3 times a week.
I originally had the original seat belts, it wasn't going up easily so I decided to be proactive safe and put in
a product by seat belt planet .com
It was their
Late 1984-1987 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60, Driver & Passenger Seat Belt Kit $357 which now after Covid/inflation and whatever excuses is $439.
The unit worked for 3 years and just failed.
I reached out and the warranty is 12 months.
Thanks.........
So my question is.
1. Should I just rip both sides out and go look for an original one and have it refurbished ?
2. Should I just cough up the $200 and get a new one from Planet s***ty seat belts every few years.
3. Nobody drives my FJ60, not my wife.... I got a stick shift to make sure she won't, not my friends, etc.
Should I just rig the seat belt so it is one size fits me and save myself all the spend ?
I don't plan to crash, I have the original engine so 55 MPH is about as high as I go.
I can just get a bracket and sew the seat belt to it.
Can't say I was happy with the quality of planet seat belts.
I took it apart and it was super flimsy construction which is a shame.
