I simply couldn't fit the original fan in there without ripping up my radiator.
That's odd..............

Yeah, I know... the fan blade was touching the radiator surface and ripped a gash in it. I never figured out what the issue was. But then the SC fan fit without a problem.... Go figure.
Do you have an ETA on plan B? I ordered mine on Aug 14.
You need to remove that 3/4" spacer and swap in the shorter studs also.

We have absolutely no overheating issues here in Florida, even with very hot temperatures and at slow speeds - I have never seen it above 190. Any reason for us to do this mod, aside from just wanting to?

I don't see your bh3d cupholders yet!Nope. But has that ever stopped any of us?
Uh no.
Reading mud can easily convince one that his or her truck is just miles away from developing a chronic overheating issue, head gasket, full rebuild, five flat tires, and a rollover - lots of doom and gloom. I had wondered if all 80s didn't eventually suffer from heat issues, and if they did, perhaps we could head them off at the pass with a new fan clutch. But most likely it'll be fine.
