Got the OME suspension in today. Boy what you find when you start pulling things apart.
Rear brakes are SHOT. Looks like the pad slide down under the clip. So clip created a nice groove in the drum. Both side....

After install instead of having the left side lean, now it leans to the right.
And there is a difference in the gap between body and wheel. Right is 3 finger gap, left side is 2 finger gap.
Any ideas on that? @cruiseroutfit .

How much lean are you seeing? Any pictures from the back on level ground? That taller drivers side spring is dome on purpose. With the weight of the driver and offset weight of the drivetrain it is meant to counter the common drivers lean and will start a tad higher than the passenger. The wheel well location is as designed, when the rear leaf flexes it moves the wheel position back (spring gets longer).

It’s about 1.5” lean. There is a pic a few tabs up.
I loosened the shackles and drove around a bit to see if it would settle but it didnt.

That is certainly a bit excessive. Give us a ring at the shop when you're standing next to it and we can ask a couple of questions and see if there might be an easy resolution. How many miles are on it post suspension install?

Ok..
Finally worked the nerve up to replace my head gasket. It’s not the fact that I have never done it before, it’s just the not knowing what I might find besides the gasket. .
Started by tearing down the air cleaner, carb, manafold, etc...

So I need your help out there guys!!!
Here are some pics of the head and cylinders.
I was actually pretty happy about the look of the cylinder walls and the piston tops. Not to much carbon build up.
Little WD40 and some scotch bride pads will clean that up.
Looking at the gasket it looks pretty crappy, but sure it’s from pulling apart.
So trying to find the breach that is putting oil in my coolant.
Just FYI,drained oil last week and changed. Nothing but oil.
So if you could scan the pics and give me your expert edvise I would greatly appreciate it.

Received call from machine shop on head. All is good. woohoo. I was really worried.
Milled, pressure tested, and magna flux.
Will post a pic when I get it.
Waiting on delivery of NEW head bolts.

Took FOREVER to remove head gasket from block. Now going to block sand with 140 grit then 180 grit.

Also painting miscellaneous items while have apart.

Definitely need to invest in bench sand blaster. Sanding/grinding these parts SUCK! :bang:
