Not sure where he found it but a friend just sent me a picture he found of a tool box made from a jerry can. And it locks!

Nice! Damn good idea. I was just going to toss the two I have, but maybe I will reconsider that....
 
sweet. a friend of mine cut the top off of one, made an insert, turning it into a slip on lid, and stores his recovery gear in it. I don't have real good pics, but here is enough to get the idea...

The first (and last) time I've picked up a hitch hiker was to give a guy holding a jerry can a lift to his vehicle. When asked where he needed to go he replied "oh just up the road." A few minutes later I looked back at what he was doing in the backseat and he was snickering away to himself as he was rummaging around inside his jerry can. Apparently, jerry cans can make decent suitcases too. Ingenious but I was tempted to turn around and drive him back down the road. :mad::lol:

How much do they run? And can they still hold fuel?
 
no they dont hold fuel and they are sold by rampage and they are about 100 dollars. i have one they are cool. summit racing also sells them. they hold quite a bit of tools also
 
Cool, I was wondering if they were well built. Ken, how long have you had yours? Do they hold out the weather?
