Probably pulled too far forward on the trailer. I calculated what my tongue weight should be (~10% of towing weight), then figured out how much that weight lowered my truck when applied at the hitch. How??? See here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/nc-olde-north-state-cruisers/277594-odd-request-quick-bit-help-pm.html

Then, I attached my trailer and pulled Dozer forward until that height was approximated. Very rough way to do it. If I had a scale that went to 700lb, or more, I would have put that under the trailer jack and done the same. Anyway, getting that weight centered over the axles and the right tongue weight take a little work, but well worth it if you trailer much.

Or just tow with a rig with 1 ton suspension :)

Good way to do it Ramon

Yeah, I'm on a 3/4Ton, which helps, but getting that weight right really helps with the ride, steering, sway etc. Ideally, a load distribution hitch should be used, but I'm a cheap bastard. :D

I agree with you Ramon, I don't have a load distrubution hitch either. I sure do like towing the wife's gooseneck horse trailer. My next flat trailer will be a goose neck.

I plan on arriving between 9:00 - 9:30 tomorrow (Saturday)

Can't wait to get there and meet some of you and your trucks.

Didn't realize this whole bring food stuff. I will stop before hand and bring a cooler full of drinks and beer that anyone is welcome to.

We'll be rolling out in about an hour or so. Got a horse that needs a little medical attention before we leave.

woke up this morning feeling blah... went back top sleep for a couple hours, and i still feel like crap. so, unless you really need the help i am going to keep my germs home.

So has anything happened besides Johnny showing off his STD symptoms or a bonfire? Status update on the work on the trucks???

Chris, Eric and I managed to arrive relatively unscathed from CLT. It was good meeting some new faces. I ended up leaving at home about half of the electronic doodads I had planned on installing so it was just plugging in LEDS all around (except for headlights) and some new rear light lenses & gaskets. No before/after pics but the reverse lights are now freakin' awesome. And the voltage drain is next to nothing - the voltmeter doesn't budge even with everything on. Something still needs some love since my front markers started shorting intermittently on the ride home. And...TA DA!!! I replaced the tiny bulb in the headlight switch. Actually, Chris did it for me in exchange for a bulb of his own.

Many thanks to Mike for the location and to everybody who cooked, made food runs, etc. I wish I could've stayed longer and enjoyed the fire.
