I would love to veggie mine but finding out details is hard, I don't know where to start looking

Ummmmmmm.... Have you tried the link in my signature?? If the detail isn't there ask me, I'll be happy to provide. I've been running it for years.

Relocated the trans mounts a little further back. Getting ready for a test fit under the body.... Let's see how screwed up I got it!

WOW! Like it was designed to fit or something! Smack bang kersplickity exacto perfecto... I guess my cardboard cutout template worked!!!

Look, it's an FBJ460tv/ic

On your turbo manifold ... Is that the one that you have to open up the lower holes to match up yo the head ??
Hey kling-on, here is a closer pic of that slotted turbo manifold....

Has been working perfectly for me mounted upside down.

COOL THX....that looks like the one I have too

And now.... The news :cD

Straight traded the old 2F/trans/xfer for this puppy!!!
(Needs a LOT of work, and needs a 3B dropped in it, which I just happen to have another one of!)

January 1978 FJ45LP

Nice

Is that a cdn spec truck? Didn't realize they made them that late

Yep, from what I can tell, it's CDN. FJ45LPKK. I believe the second K is Canada. (?)

Though all the Canadian truck were semi float not full floaters cool

Ok, definitely time for an update.... Things have been slowed down due to the push to get other things done before the cold really hits and the snow starts falling... Had to get a bunch of stuff done to the 80, like finally change the PHH, and get my reverse lights working. Now that it's up and running I can get back to the 40!

Made a little frame for the body to sit on and got it tucked out of the way on one side of the shop, had the chassis ahead of it so I could get the 80 to the hoist.

So, I got a new tranny mount from Rock Auto, I figure that at 1/4 the price I can change it after a few years... $33 compared with $120 seems worth it. Mounted that and then set the final location for on for the tranny cross member mounts. Figure it would be best to do that with a new mount rather than the old one that had fallen apart.

Got everything lined up, tacked in place then pulled the engine tranny out to weld it up.

Then welded the engine mounts to the frame.

So, all the bracket welding is now done...

Looking good

Thanks kling-on, a few more pics of the progress to come later tonight. Got it torn right down to the frame, got my busted fender bolts out, flipped it over and got bump stop pads off (that's all that was left of them!)

Side note:
I've always been a sucker for white wagon wheels on a 40.... They just go along with the white roof and bezel...
Anyone have any experience with these wheels? They seem to be a good price at $49, right center bore, bolt pattern etc... Would need a 0.25" spacer but that's not the end of the world...

Hmmm.... Overhangs my little trailer by a tad.... Guess I should find some little flags (that you can't see in the dark)

Being dropped off for pickling and galvanizing on Wednesday evening!
