I went to change the collet on my router last night and there is a screw in the bottom of it that threads in to the shaft of the router. The damn screw head is stripped and I don't know how to get it out. Of course it is my 1/4" collet and most of my bits are 1/2". Any ideas?

A pic would help. Drill it and use an easy out. File two edges flat and use vice grips. Lot's of solutions but pics would help identify the best one to start with.

Yeah it has left hand threads. I managed to get it out last night. I think that I am going to pull the screw out of it and see if the collet will work with out it. I ended up putting a screw driver on it and tapping it lightly with the hammer and twisting it at the same time. The next option was the throw the damn thing away.
