This one had me double take this week during our FL beach trip.

We started Rim Rocker at 12:30.

Rode by Area BFE...there was a Ultra 4 race happening

This trail is awesome. 175 or so miles from Moab to Montrose. It's pretty slow. We averaged about 16mph and made it east of Nucla and found a superb spot overlooking both mountain ranges

I have it all on GAIA. I'll link the routes later with some suggestions
I’ve found your routes extremely useful. This is the second time in a few years that you have ran through and posted about areas that I’ve been studying maps on for weeks. I feel like I owe you for scouting for this route scouting.

I love hearing this. I truly love sharing this stuff.

My dad was prospecting the western slope in the 40s and 50s. Always happy to see folks discovering the less traveled bits. He drove lots of this in a surplus willys.

This area is on my short list for exploring as well! Thanks Nolen for giving us all a glimpse. Can't wait to see the tracks.

We got into Montrose and grabbed a storage shed for Jonathan and decided to head to Silverton for lunch

Ouray was a zoo so we passed through and hit the million dollar highway.

Great drive. Laird put his HJ in 4 Low to make it up and over 11,500'

Pizza and a beer at the brewery

We went on a search for snow and found it in Animas Forks

We had a blast exploring what has thawed and getting stuck.

Mississippi boys in the snow.

Beautiful day. Home tomorrow. Parking at @RustyNailJustin shop until we start leg

Today we woke up and finished off Rim Rocker into Montrose.
It was an awesome trail. We blasted through it pretty fast. Average was about 17 mph. Most estimates I see are 11-13 hours

We ran Rim Rocker west a couple years ago but ran into a couple washes just before Moab, one of which we couldn’t get our trailer through due to approach and departure angles being too steep so we bailed. We’ve wanted to complete this ever since… did you encounter anything like this?

Also, thanks for the tracks… they are in my “White Whale” folder on Gaia.

No issues. 4 high 99

no issues. 4high 99% of the trail.

Which tires are you going to try next?

These x-AT are performing better than expected. Killed the north rim mud and stuck to the Moab rock like glue
