have you put airbags on yet? been thinking about it for towing another cruiser or snowmobile trailer on occasion. I don't want to make my everyday ride worse by so doing. I did add them to my 55 and it still rides really nice so maybe i worry too much.

Maybe next road trip head out to WY and we'll put you on some gas powered sleds 😂

Not yet. They are in my shop for the next time I do a round of mods in my 200. I’ve got a few small things I need to collect then they will go on. Firestone. No controller just a Schroeder valve

Back at it today…..

sweet. I almost towed my 55 to SAS, but didn't love how the 200 felt towing it up mtn passes. But I'm used to towing with my air bagged tundra I used to have. I was surprised how different it feels. Happy New Year to ya, i hope Christmas treated you well.

looks like a really nice 60.

I’m stunned at those mint rear hub covers. They even look to have the original beige on the inside near the T.

I’ll start a thread soon. It’s a real gem

Took off on a parts (burrito) run today. Met some nice folks. Drove a ton. No load or tent. Got almost 15 mpg. Amazing. Made it 15 hours and gave up 4 hours from home.
Thanks to @duggy for the 200 bumper Mine, as you can see in the mural photo has a big chunk out of it thanks to that bull rodent Javalena

Great shop you
Have.

The 200 got a spa day today. Thanks @USMC22 and @Dustin Messina for lending some strong hands to the effort.

Started off with some ARB skid plates. These things are super nice and the fit is perfect. I’m not sure who wrote out these directions but for a product from Australia they were incredibly legible and compete.

The stock skid plates on a 200 are a joke. The first big trip I took to Big Bend I smashed up the front section terribly. It was hanging bad in places. Then I crashed the Javalena and took it out even worse. These are a great, relatively inexpensive option.

Next we added some Firestone airbags to the rear. I use my truck to tow often and these just make things better when loaded.

We wallowed out the hole at the base and hacked the bump stops off and the rest was easy enough.

You have to do the KDSS release for this and getting the rear sway bar back in place is for sure a two person job.

I tried to install a Redarc trailer controller but I purchased the wrong pigtail and the wrong dash insert so we scrapped that and moved to the bumper swap.

This would have been easier without having the hidden winch. Also I had to swap over the sensors and washers and wiring. Dustin was a big help with that.

We cut the fairlead hole out and snapped it all back in place. Now I need to buy the lower inner fender plastics and I’ll be back in one piece. Thanks again @duggy for the fresh plastic!

fyi you don’t need those steel spacers for bracket that holds the back of the transmission skid. It fits just fine without them and reduces the off chance that it deflects and boogers your transfer case skid.

Has that ever happened? Seems pretty far fetched

Found this easy diagram on Redarc wires to Toyota pigtail and knocked that out.

I drilled out the stock insert for the knob. Easy enough.

Ole Whale got all the love this weekend and nothing is visible except I don’t have a chunk out of my bumper that only I noticed….

Delivered the CBrown 60 to Florida today. 500 miles. Mixed driving.

The Firestone airbags and Redarc controller were a true game changer towing the heavy ass 60. I dropped it in 6th gear and ran it 2500 RPM all the way. Zero Sway. Such a good hauler.

@jomelo was kind enough to let me drop this truck at his house. I’m not sure the new owner had told his wife yet. We took a tour of his new farm in Mustard 78 that I delivered to him a few months back.
