who can tell me what a high temp in degrees f is on my LX? My gauge is reading upwards of 220 (that's where I set my alarm) when sitting for 10 min at idle. Its only 100 deg right now but is a bit muggy. running temp is 190-194 at speed.
Looking for normal coolant temps and high temps if I can get a range. My dash gauge is inop so Im using a digital.

Auto mode won't matter. As long as the "ac" button is lit, the compressor has power. What I don't know is whether the compressor loses power when it cycles off. That is a deal breaker since the fan will cycle with the compressor (if that is true) and burn out very quickly.
Confused here. The ac system has power when the ac light is on? Is that what you're saying because you acknowledge that the compressor cycles due to the next question of whether the compressor has power when it cycles. Anyway the compressor does not have power when it cycles. It's a simple two wire compressor. So in order to "cycle" it the system will cut power to the compressor clutch disengaging the compressor. The low pressure switch will have power though as long as you have freon in the system.

Ha. You are correct. Just re read my statement and it is idiotic. Point I was making was that the fan would cycle too often IMO if wired to clutch power.

Update - Sorry for the delay. Toyota back ordered 14 of the factory bushing. After some inquiring on where are they I find out Toyota will be discontinuing the availability of the bushing.:bang:

Tonight I will be sending emails to all the guys that have paid using their PayPal email address. If you paid and did not receive an email let me know.

If I dont hear from you otherwise I will be shipping the kits on Friday with non factory lower bumpers and refunding you $4
You will be getting whats in the picture

hello guys.
I am interested to fit an AUX FAN as well
the car is 2002 Land Cruiser 100, 4.2 diesel.

perhaps the European versions DO NOT include FANs...

I'd like to know the brand of the FAN which you say offers 10 years warranty?

I would be interested also

I can make some more with enough interest.

Where is the interest? -
∙ Just the mounting brackets est. $33
∙ Mounting brackets and fan est. $135
∙ Mounting brackets, fan, switch, and wiring (includes everything needed to complete) est. $170

also, what do you think about installing 2 FANS?

Pre 2003 all 100 and LX470 came with one fan and the AC system was excellent under the hottest conditions. Not sure what you would expect to gain going with two.

I would be down for a set of brackets only. I already purchased my fan and have a spare relay / wiring for the fan already to go.

Why was the fan removed for 03+ models? I apologize if you've already answered this.

Im sure some of it had to do with cost. Toyota changed the ducting of the incoming air a lot to compensate. Living in sunny AZ (today expected temp. 120°) our 2006 LX470 does excellent. If you are stuck sitting in that type of temps your AC temp output will drop but you water temp will remain fine. The need IMO is only if you find yourself sitting for an extended amount of time in hot temps.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

As of 2003 Mr T deleted the electric condenser fan from our 100 series Land Cruiser. Along with the fan delete they changed the way the air ducts into the radiator. The fan delete and re- ducting works great at speed but AC performance suffers when stopped or setting in heavy traffic. Recently I had my AC go hot on a 113° day Click HERE for the story.

Some interest was shown on creating a bolt in set up for adding back in the electric condenser fan. I put together a kit with the needed parts to bolt in a factory or factory replacement electric fan in a 2003 - 2007 LC or LX470.

Fan options -

Factory OEM electric fan ~$235+ tax from your dealer
Aftermarket factory replacement 1/2 OEM cost- all the replacement fans I have seen do not include the lower rubber insulators. My kit does include these if you go aftermarket like I did.

LCP 100 series electric fan kit includes -

The needed 3 o'clock bracket
All the needed hardware (10.9 JIS bolts) for fan installation
Two lower rubber bumpers needed on all aftermarket fans (not available separately from Toyota)

Shipped in the lower 48 - $28.00
Local sales deduct $5 for pick up

Aftermarket fan install on a 2006 LX470 (horns remove for better picture)

Needed bracket installed - no drilling required, encapsulated nut welded on back of bracket for ease of installation.

Whats in the kit

If you have the needed tools the kit is not a big deal to build yourself. If you dont this kit makes for a 1:banana:install for the even the mechanically challenged.

As for switching there are several ways of going about it. The fan (OEM and aftermarket) only draws 5amps so a relay is not needed. I can put together switching/wiring for the non tech guys if needed.

LandCruiserPhil, do you still have any of these kits available? I would really like to have this mod for my 2006 100. Please let me know. I am in Phoenix and can pickup locally. Thanks
