Top up the refrigerant with a dye in it and trace where the leak is (if there is), usually at the expansion valve, lines, condenser - there’s a lot of YouTube videos that would guide you how to this, super easy. Check the compressor clutch if it’s even engaging, it won’t if the plates are loose. Check your evaporator as well for refrigerant leaks when you put in the refrigerant dye. Clean your evaporator.I was able to wire up a switch to an ebay fan that helps but hasn't completely fixed the issue.

It is where shops make a killing when they diagnose problems incorrectly. Diagnose it first then if the task is too much for you then have them do it.
