How to get peak AC performance from your 2003+ 100 series

Again normally the fan is not needed only when sitting stopped or in heavy slow traffic even in AZ

DEPO fan 312-55010-200
Dont have the number for a factory aftermarket plug exceeded my point point i.e. Im cheap
Switch is noted above a Dorman available at all the big autoparts store and Amazon

The factory pre 03 the fan comes on with the AC requiring a relay
My problem with the AC is my wife waiting for kids. Sitting for 10-15, goes warm. Ive had it behind saghuaro lake and in my driveway trying to
reproduce the issue and cannot.
I have witnessed pressures exceeding 240 at idle and think the compressor shuts down. Just replaced my rad cap on Friday and noticed lower cooling temps immediately. that might have fixed it based on my pressure theory but who knows.

the fan will make momma happy

Interested for my '05 LX.
Not committed, though. I'd like to wait and see if anyone comes up with a way to get it to switch on its own--presumably the way it runs on pre-03 trucks.

Yeah, but I want somebody to find the relay, the plugs, the wires, and package it all up in a half  plug and play kit.
I'm waxing lazy these days.

I wonder, is there a blank relay location in the later models where the condenser fan was fed?
It would be nice if it was a basic factory retrofit.

It all possible, factory retrofit all parts are available just time and money;)

On the 98-02's, the condenser fans activates at 220psi. The same pressure switch is used from 98-07 (and many other Toyotas). Take a look at the pressure switch on your 03-07 and see if there are two unused terminals (2 & 3).... or maybe the wiring is there already.

The pins are normally on the switch but the connector is lacking. I just went through this on my 80 series and could not determine the correct connector female pins and ended up buying a connector with 4 wires and female pins. Do you know the female pin part number?

I don't have that info but if you know the actual manufacturer of connector, it might be possible.

You can purchase the connector from Toyota but it does not refeernce the terminal part numbers and comes with none.

All gone!

Thanks guys
how long til you ship? think I'm gonna order my depo and accessories today.

Been looking into how to wire and I think you are correct in your method. don't want it running the entire time the compressor is on and
to wire directly to the pressure switch is a bit down the road.

As you know several ways to wire it. Figure out what works best for you needs.

It took several days on both my DEPO fans (1 from Amazon and 1 from Ebay) I would order today. My stuff will go out USPS 1st class or Priority so it should only take a couple days.

I was hoping to ship tomorrow but Toyota cancelled my order after receiving some bushing last week. WTF I have calls in to see what is going on. Waiting waiting waiting waiting

I dont like waiting!:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

I know you are loving Camelback but.....try Chad Bendel at Power Tempe. Works wholesale and is a personal friend of mine. I used to manage their svc dept. I also just used my previous shop foreman to replace my t-belt kit. dirt cheap for anyone interested. I consider him best in the state for technicians. 480-371-6044 ToyoTek. jus FYI, not trying to advertise for him necessarily.

I came up with the part number by a different application and was superseded by another number. I ordered it and it ended up being the same bushing.

Fast forward to today - Found 2 in Ohio and after we pulled them out of Toyotas parts system the database goes blank. Calls to Toyota are in the works I will let you know what the results are. :worms:

Just grab the +12V that feeds the compressor and use it to trigger a relay and then no driver input needed.:)
Do you run HVAC in "auto" mode? Doesn't that power the compressor 100% of the time?

Auto mode won't matter. As long as the "ac" button is lit, the compressor has power. What I don't know is whether the compressor loses power when it cycles off. That is a deal breaker since the fan will cycle with the compressor (if that is true) and burn out very quickly.
