How many miles are you getting out of a full tank? (2 Viewers)

I get 220 miles for every 16/17 gallons (to the quarter) of gas. Right around 13.5/14mpg, mostly city driving. Probably get around 15mpg on the the highway. For those getting 300+, kudos to you. Mind sharing the secret??? Diesel? Gutted? Do you get out and push sometimes? Combo of all three?
Lifted, 33's, and half of every tank is 150 miles with a drop of 5000ft in elevation with a 65mph cruise control setting. :flipoff2:

Kilometers?

Sorry - miles per tankful of gas. No secrets really - just fresh plugs, wires, cap, rotor, belts, etc. Cheap regular gas, all seats in, mix of city and highway driving - usually below 75mph...

I would typically get 14-16 MPG before lifting it a few weeks ago. That's with a 5% adjustment for 33s, probably 70/30 split on town vs. freeway, and 6K to 7K altitude. Haven't done much driving that didn't have a heavy trailer behind it since then, so no post-lift numbers. Those could be skewed anyway since I just did new plugs/cap/roter/wires & pcv as well.

Agree that the "full tank" comparison isn't to useful - but I could typically count on 300 miles before the light comes on.

For those of you that say the mileage went down after replacing the fan, has anyone come out with an electric fan alternative. Removing the viscous fan altogether? Why couldn't an aftermarket pusher or puller fan be run?

I see on average 250 mi with 14-16 mpg all city driven. Ive een keeping a log. With a slight increase once i changed all the fluids and repacked the axles.

I have seen once 273mi but that was with the E pegged to see if the light would turn on ... I filled up 80 liters of fuel so my guess is the light is burnt (maybe I'll switch it with the CEL - just kidding).

I used to get up to 320 in my '94 with 150k. 365 when the light came on once. Now with 250k and mods 211 every time. I changed the plugs and original SP wires before a 1200 mile trip recently, and the mileage did not improve.

I am bone stock except synthetic fluids in everything.

330-350 miles before light comes on for highway driving
260-270 miles in town

best mpg on one tank, 18.57 all highway, never over 75mph always 85 octane

average on the last 8 tanks 15.11

Hwy 325 till light comes on around 70MPH
City 250 275
Best ever 380 all HWY 65 MPH

Bone stock

I found a part of west Georgia that does not have any gas stations, I also found out that the fuel pump picks up residual best when you are level, uphill or down hill engine-no-workie, so the goal is to get going fast on the flats to make it over the hill un-powered, at one point I had to get out and push it to the downhill part to get it going again, you can make it about 10 miles this way after the fist sputter, as I crested the last hill engine stalled unable to restart with about 15 MPM left in inertia I spotted a little redneck store at the bottom of the hill coasted in un-powered, ancient pumps (mechanical dials for numbers not even the old red LED 88888.888 array numbers) took almost exactly 25 gallons. I was sure my fuel pump was done for after that but over a year later no problem, try that with a chevy,

so 25 gallons x average 14 MPG = 350 miles max range.

used to get 15mpg with stock roller skate tires.

Please kill this thread immediately...as it's a constant reminder of the only thing I dislike about my rig.

I'm running mostly at sea level, mostly highway. On 87 octane gas I'm getting about 320-360 miles on a tank. Is that typical?

edit: '94 on 295/75R16, 190,000 miles

I manage 250 with a combo of city and highway. All highway never more than 285. I have the 2.5 inch lift and run 285s.

I'm averaging about 260-280 miles per wallet drainage on mixed driving. Got 137k miles on the rig, never done any engine mods (original HG too). Never tried to run the thing until it was REALLY empty, so maybe in theory I could go to 300 miles. Best ever was a 337 reading on the old odo after a nice leasurly highway jaunt...or maybe I just lost track:D

about 230 befor the light comes on...I'll claim all city driving since driving on the 101 in phoenix averages about 10 mph. Best was about 300 with a tail wind coming down from Payson. I guess the worst would be going the other direction. Running basically stock with 295's
