How many miles are you getting out of a full tank? (1 Viewer)

Okay, I just filled up in Seattle yesterday, and drove up to Abbotsford, BC. Mostly highway @70-75mph.

Last night I did a little wheeling, and today drove it to work. I've got 188 miles so far, and I'm just under half a tank (about 3/8 tank) . Is that normal?

I live at 10,000 feet, I get about 280-300 before the light comes on

1000 Ft MSL, 240-260 miles per tank. All in town short trips (6 miles or so). 315s, 4 inch lift, ARB, winch, Slee rear bumper, sliders...

In 2004 going to Moab and back I averaged about 14 MPG at 80 MPH.

I suspect so. The bottom half of the gage doesn't last as long as the top half.

Altitude: ~1100 feet
Miles per fill: ~700 highway ~600 city
Capacity: ~48 (24 + 24)

It translates to 14.5 mpg highway. My wife's truck gets 16. Mine weighs about 1,500 lbs more than her's when it goes on trips. Neither one has a roof rack.

It was kind of fun filling up before I left Kentucky and making it home to Nebraska without getting gas again.

I think that the single most effective change that I made to my truck with respect to gas mileage was removing the roof rack & rear spoiler. I went from 12.5 mpg highway to 14.5 mpg highway.

I get 240 to 280 depending how I drive in city. Filled up yesterday
287 miles / 22 gal = 13 mpg

I work 1.8 miles from my house so those are my usual trips. I probably average no more than 3 miles per use during a tank and I rarely get over 250 mpg. I have seen 300 on trips but not much over that. I think my mileage went down after making the O-ring mod.

I am getting 260 per tank in town, 160,000 miles on my 94. Not as good as my wife's 100 series.

Just before the HG blew I was down to 8.7 or so per gallon. On the first tank after I am at the 1/2 tank point & 140 or so miles. Based on experience if I get another 60 miles from this tank I will be lucky.

I'll post the tanks final mileage when I fill up

I'm still getting ~25 mpg ; even with the super charger.

...

I just filled mine up yesterday and got 22.47mpg(US:mixed driving) and the best I've ever gotten was about 25mpg (mostly in town).

Of course mine runs on diesel with part-time 4wd.:D

If I were to drive steady 50mph on the highway I think I can get even more.:flipoff2:

with pure freeway driving and a basically stock '96 running 265/75R16's (about 1% slow on the speedo and odometer) and a brush guard, my best was 17mpg corrected. Typical mileage is 15mpg. My worst is 12-13mpg in the winter or when pulling a trailer. I usually get about 270-280 miles before the light comes on. I go by how many gallons I fill up divided into the number of miles I drove. I don't go by the needle level or when the light actually comes on to calculate mpg. I even try to use the same gas station and the same gas pump for consistency's sake. Every toyota I've ever owned is inaccurate as far as the "top half" of the gauge vs. the "bottom half." The bottom half always goes much faster than the top.

As a comparison:

--my '99 Land Rover Disco II got 15 mpg no matter what
--my '90 4Runner with a 22RE, 5 speed, and 35's gets 17mpg (speedo is corrected)
--my '95 Land Rover Disco I got 11-13mpg depending on it's mood.
--our newly aquired 1995 Celica gets 30mpg
--our '98 Subaru Outback gets 23-27mpg city/highway
--our '92 Camry got 22 city/31highway (even the window sticker was spread this much)

miles per tank

Around 300+ in the city. 12.5-13.2 MPG/City. 97 LX450 Stock w/285/75/R16 Cooper Disco's. That does not take into account the larger diameter tire correction.

I consistently get 15 - 15.5mpg from my '94 w/ mixed driving.
Reserve light comes on w/ 5gls remaining and always post 300+miles at this point. I always cruise at 5mph over posted limit and have all the SLEE armor possible, OME 2.5 Heavy, plus HANNA rear and ARB front with 33'' Revo's.
85octane/5k altitude/130k miles and CDANS 'tune up/baseline kit'< my phrasing, not his> incl. blue-base fan clutch upgrade completed 1yr ago @ 90k mileage.
....and I kept my rear spoiler too !.......:grinpimp:

I got about 254 the other day, could of got afew more miles but the light came on and didn't want to chance it.

I get 275-300 till the light comes on depending on the driving. I got an honest 19mpg on the highway once, holding it to 55. Maybe they should lower the speed limit back to 55.

I get 340 miles in 22.5 gallons, so I have another 2.5 gallons reserve. on the hwy. city drops to around 11 miles per gallon.

285/75-16" Geolanders and 2.5 medium suspension OME.

469 miles using 90 litres of fuel or 23.78 US gal is my best tank so far. Just thought I'd chime in with the 1HDT engine. Average is however about 380 miles on the same amount of fuel.

I am glad to hear that the first half of the tank thing is normal, thought I was loosing my mind. I am averaging 260 - 280 per tank I have not taken it to the warning light yet. 97 with 33's, factory roof rack no other major mods...yet.:D
