funny thing is i was trying to figure something strange out yesterday dealing with this..... i can get about 175miles town 190 highway on the first half tank. After the needle reaches halfway mark, the second half of the tank seems to go much quicker.
ive noticed this too im not sure it's true of all vehicles as i pretty much refuse to drive anything thats not a yota (other than my sami) but first half of the tank seems to be more like 3/4 than a half milage wise

I had a Camaro that does the same thing. Trapezoidal tank?

Usually around 220 mixed driving...with roof rack, 35s (no regear although I have new 4.88s) and a ARB/winch.

I just got 14 mpg yesterday with all highway driving, between 60-70 mph. I thought I was getting better during the summer, but I don't have any numbers to prove it!

Anyone know when gas stations switch to winter blend, or how to tell?

Today's fill up 267 miles...20.384 Gallons...13mpg before adjusting for tire size. I was getting over 15mpg easily..

280/75R16 tires.13.5mpg after adjusting for tire size...

94 all stock

180,000 miles, all stock minus front bumper (tjm-the light cheap one), stock tires, 0-100 elevation (houston area), and driving gingerly.
i get 10-11mpg. and trust me, i'm very aware of it, my wife won't let me forget how much of our budget is gas for elsie (the truck). i could only dream of 13mpg. it's better than my old 1992 4x4 3/4 ton suburban, it got 6mpg. suck it Al Gore!

238 last fill, just over 20 gal.....$62 bucks.....

Wisconsin, 315 BFG At's... ARB bumper etc.....

Remember, depending on the temperature you may be getting less fuel because of expansion during hot days.

have you corrected your speedo for the larger tires? ....if not your miles are not accurate. i'm running 305's with no correction and i showed 264 miles and about 20 gallons last tank. i figure my speedo is off about 6%. if i factor that in then my mileage should have registered about 280... thereby giving me about 14 mpg on the highway.

For city with some highway, light pops on at around 200. SO about 10mpg. Highway jumps up to 13 on a good day (no head wind).

On highway it gets the best mileage at 60mph. Much over that and it falls to shiznit.

Mileage in Colorado

OK, I was very concerned about going with an 80 after driving a 1991 CRX for 8 years. Here are my initial records for:

85 octane, PWR off, 4 lane 70mph max, commuting 30 miles each way 6200ft - 9000ft and back.

Price Gallons Total OD Trip MPG
3.03.9 17.277 52.50 146232 0
2.72.9 19.550 53.35 146528 296 15.14
3.10.9 21.069 65.50 146862 333 15.81
3.03.9 9.387 28.53 147009 147 15.66
3.16.9 19.800 62.75 147325 316 15.96

So to conclude, I would say safely I get 15mpg with 85 octane with power off. I would guess it would be better on a long hwy trip with cruise on and a bit worse if I lived in the city. I am happy with these results considering what I have seen on this forum. Next I will test 87 octane with power off...

Driving like I stole it and going 70-80mph (90% highway and 10% in town) I get 13 to 13.5mpg corrected. OME heavy lift, 285 tires, stock gears, sliders/rear bumper.

Driving pretty much the same route and mellow showing an indicated 65mph-67mph (just under 70mph), leaving from a stop gingerly and just cruising on the highway I can get 15.5mpg.

These trucks are gas hogs. Bottom line. 6500lbs not being diesel is simply going to be thirsty.

I'll add some more numbers in here. On winter gas blend, regular (low) octane, I get 15mpg highway (60-70mph) and 10-11mpg city. This is with a GPS-calibrated Yellowbox correcting for my tire size, and the mileage is calculated both on the Scangauge and with the tripmeter.

I am at sea level but seem to always be in traffic around the DC area. Was getting 13.5 city now at 15 picked up the additional mpg after replacing my rear parking brake that was not releasing and my front calipers that would stick on occasion. Especailly my right caliper. These things are like tanks so it is hard to tell when your dragging a break.

When I see these low mileages I wonder if they forgot to adjust mileage for the taller tire?

265 odometer miles last tankful, all city driving. 280.9 miles with 6% correction and 24 gals ...11.7 mpg average. Pretty typical for me as as I do 80% city driving for the most part.

WET

Almost 100% highway, but carrying 7 passengers a lot of the time (4 small kids, 4 adults), I got 280 miles on 19.3 gallons doing around 65 mph. That's 14.5 mpg, GPS calibrated Yellow Box corrected speedo.

I consistently get 14-15 mpg at highway speeds 65 and under. If I go 70-75 on my gears (5.29) I'm down to 13 max in a hurry.

Been consistently seeing 22-24 mpg (1HDT) and because its my dd with 160km typical round trip days been considering a free wheel kit - can I expect another 4-5 mpg improvement? (Have heard the hwy ride is smoother also which sounds logical)

250 mixed

I get between 300 and 325 mile on the highway and 250 in the city.

I haven't had a chance to really take it on a long road trip yet to test things out, hopefully soon.

Drove mine off the lot in near Spokane WA and filled pulling off to Richland, WA and got 15 mpg on the nose. Didn't think it was bad --- 178,000, no wind, evening, 87 Octane.

Doing a tune up next week, The plugs were at about 0.052 to get the 15 so hope corectly gapped should get me better mileage.
