This is a classic Sniper diagnosis problem where there is likely an imposter Spider-Man or two posing as the real Spider-Man

What is your ignition setup? Distributor, coil, etc? Post some pics.

Is the tach signal to the Sniper physically compromised or have a loose connection? Ancient dizzy? Any red flags?

At first glance it looks like it’s trying to digest an impossible RPM condition. As though it thinks it is cranking (and opens the IAC to 100%) while it is running, then flips back and forth between the two RPMs.

The IAC is adjusting quickly (good). The O2 readings are moving quickly and widely (good)

Also remember that Snipers sense fear and will use that to teach you a lesson about yourself if you try to fight it

For the first Spider-Man, I would look heavily at the coil (-) to Sniper connection and the wire all the way to the Sniper. If nothing there I’d pull the cap on the distributor and see if anything weird going on with the pickup. Anything short of perfect

The IAC is something that those of us who are not versed in fuel injection should be clarified in the manual as well. Despite the instructions, it is easy to look at the throttle lever and my brain says “ idle screw…. Slow the idle here “

@wngrog pointed this out to me when I was first installing my Mosley kit. It is outlined in black in the book….but after screwing all kinds of stuff together from computers to ikea furniture over the decades, it just is another note in the book…. And easily ignored…but , that’s the mistake

This is where the Muscle Car guys throw their hands up, call it a piece of garbage on all of their FB groups and put their carb back on.

Clean wiring/57-60psi fuel pressure and setup like the book instructs. Also- cycle the key after every change to the wizard.

@wngrog has a video on the install on a manifold and he uses the sealer on the 4 cap bolts thru the adapter and into the manifold before the carb insulator. Did that on my install to rule out another potential leak

@wngrog @FJ60Cam

Well the throttle body is reinstalled, started no noticeable leaks and checked all the working fuel pressure good but still ran rough.

Reset the wizard
2300 Sniper 2 INJ (also tried 2300 Super Sniper 4 inj)
248 displacement
750 idle
15 WOT timing
Hyperspark ignition , have a DUI installed

Reset ignition by cycle to the key went to this screen.

And the truck will not start.

Any suggestions?

Don’t select hyperspark if you have a dui. Hyperspark is only for hyperspark. You need coil (-).

Thanks!

That got her started, same running condition. I will post up a video of the sensors screen.

Running again, still the same running condition, about to where it was on Saturday when this suddenly occurred.

Since Saturday afternoon:

New O2 sensor
New Fuel Filter
Drained Gas Tank and added fresh ethanol free fuel
New IAC Valve
New Plugs
Checked Timing
Checked wiring
New gasket between throttle body and base plate, baseplate sealed well
Rechecked wiring
Reset Wizard

Rob at 49 tire installed a new head gasket and adjusted the valves not long before I purchased the truck which was ~3 years and 7,000 miles ago and it has run well since then.

I am leaning to either a bad Sniper ECU, possibly a bad distributor/ignition or with the way it currently sounds, something has gone on in the Valve train.

Thanks all for getting me to this point, not sure there are many more simple resolutions left for me to pursue.

Can’t remember but have you checked for vacuum leak and loose hardware at the manifolds? Carb clean will find it.
