Even with out a header, Carb Insulator or cooling fan the Sniper EFI unit is an improvement to the old F engine. no more cold starting issues, hot starting issues, no more vapor locking and starts right up after sitting for 4 months.

Bummer.....I don't have a set of headers, and there is not a source of good headers to be obtained.


Maybe I'll just stick to the OEM stuff that currently occupies the top of my 2F's intake manifold. ;)
We run the sor header. It fits and is coated. I wish the man free header was still around and didn’t hit the frame in a 40. Sor headers also get close to he oil pan. So wrapping is critical for us.
 
@RLMS, you ought consider building a header (tri-y, hint hint...) worthy of puting on these old Toyotas...just saying...
I wish I could. @Trollhole he’s used 3fe manifolds instead of headers. They flow way better than a 2f 1 piece manifold.
 
I’m looking to run a return line and since the previous owner seemed to cap the 2 lines on top, wondering which is the return? This is a 71’ with a 75’ 2F.

Those are the vent tubes for the vapor sep stuff. I would run a "in tank pump system". We have a diy kit. just for efi swaps. You would then have to set that up, .... then cap off the bottom factory inlet fuel supply tank side!

Remember Fuel pumps that sit in fuel last longer, stay cooler, less noise and won't create air bubbles in the fuel/pump.

does in tank fuel pump not need a return line? I need to figure out if any of the separator lines can be used for a fuel return. Currently 2 lines near filler neck run to separator. Charcoal canister has be removed by po. the 2 other capped separator lines I guess used to go thru original seats back to the lines that are currently being used. Just wondering if I can run a return to one line

In-tank pump modules will have a fitting for the return.

one port is an outlet another is a return, the bigger port is the electrical bulk head and the other gets plugged.

Looking to route the fuel and fuel return lines. Anyone have any creative methods on how they did theirs. I do like the use of hard line along with soft. I’d prefer to use hard line against frame rail for both but not sure if it’s a good idea. What did others do and where did you enter cab if different from stock location.
 
On my recent install, I went all soft line.
The reason was when I combined hard and soft, there was more likelihood of leaks at each junction. I would prefer to run all hard lines, and may end up converting, but I will need to invest in a nice (Eastwood) flaring tool, to build it the way I want.
I ran the lines basically the same route as the factory hard lines.
I placed my pump and filters along the inside of the frame rail .

I noticed that jegs has the sniper 2300 base kits for 899.
That's 100 bucks off if your interested...

The master kits are discounted as well. 1100 iirc or 1150.

Just thought I would share...
 
When I got my base kit 8 months ago, I couldn’t find one anywhere cheaper than getting it right from Holley. I got it from Holley guessing it would be the easiest way to deal with any warranty issues, but I realize now that with any warranty issues, you’ll probably be dealing with Holley. I see that the Jegs, Summit and Holley prices still match, on the base kit anyway. I’ve always felt that when getting something right from the manufacturer, your more likely to get the latest version if any minor changes were made that weren’t made known. For example, the Sniper 2300 had some changes made to the fuel regulator cover. People who had problems with the older cover were sent the upgraded cover under warranty but still had the hassle of dealing with it.

There are a few vendors here on Mud that sell them and at least one other vendor that was recommended for great customer service. I think customer service could be very handy even if the initial cost was a little more. If I could do it over knowing what I know now, I still don’t know which way I’d go but I thought I’d mention these few things to consider.
