I would also be interested in a kit from you Jim as I plan on this upgrade in the near future, thanks, Matt

Look at my ebay #253264248936 (mud guys do not have to buy on ebay). Of particular interest is the brass bar on the pedal end of the cable, it spins free from the actual throttle wire, so it is not getting bent every time you give throttle. Also note carburetor end is removable so that cable can be trimmed to exact length required- - -easy deal.

I would like to get a throttle cable kit from you that has the cable and bracket. Thanks Dustin

I may already have adapter sourced and really want to try and modify the system to keep the factory air cleaner on my 60.

Ive thought about this on the F in my 40, possibly trying to make an eccentric 5 1/8 ID to Toyota carb OD piece that would adapt the Holley to my factory Toyota air cleaner (no brake booster on my rig to worry about.) Ive modeled a few ideas up in CAD though I doubt anything final will have the pretty lofts I did.

I know some of the guys that get the AFI setup have found a mister gasket

See I was thinking that you may be able to do something like @maxbob002 did and use the Mr. Gasket spaces to run factory cleaner on a 60. I haven't looked at the diameter yet though. He setup looks super clean in person.

I used the Mr. Gasket air filter adapter set 6411G with an additional 2" spacer. Had to sand down the lip but it fits the TBI and 2F breather well. Are the carb sizes the same between generations of F motors?

I believe there are at least two different sizes between the F & 2F.

Can you post an installed pic?

I want to do something like this but I believe the Holley 5 1/8" circle is offset relative to the center of the intake manifold. That is why I was thinking eccentric when I get around to doing this (hopefully this fall)

@FJ60Cam @maxbob002 setup is clean in person installed. I am guessing that setup he used would work to adapt the Sniper setup as well to an fj60 factory cleaner because it is a 5 1/8", but if it is offset that would throw a kink in the plan. However we are going to find out. I've order all components needed on order and the Sniper is in route and will be here Tuesday! Then it will be time to mock it all up and see.

Have you thought about how to fab one up? Any ideas?

I wanted to make something eccentric where the ~3" opening was tangent inside the 5 1/8" opening if viewed from the top. It could be a nice lofted piece as I modeled if I could 3D print it out of a suitable material or have it machined (too bad Im not at my old job anymore.) Im not looking to go into business but a casting would work great for volume. Or just weld up two tubes with a plate in between and offset them and the hole. My thought is that plus the fact that my F air cleaner can be mounted where the lid is swept at different angles about the housing should work, but I cant say as I have yet to pull the trigger on the sniper (wedding planning eating all my time.)

It looks like it would shift toward the firewall an inch or so. Maybe just extend the air cleaner brackets?

Hmm that could be an idea. I might pick your brain when it all comes in. This would be easier then fab work.

I will be able to give you some insight when everything finally shows up and I can start mocking things up!

Great thread and write up. I ordered a Holley Sniper set up so will be hopefully installing soon.

Can't wait to follow you thread and see another sniper on a 2f. I have everything coming in this week and plan on installing the Sniper Saturday in a 60!!!

One thing you may consider with the sniper kit is to send your distributor to Jim C to get it recurved. Will help squeeze a bit more power and fuel economy out of the sniper kit. Fueling is just as important as a good timing curve when it comes to engine power and efficiency.
