Hi,

Do you know a source where i could get the acryl headlight protectors for the models with the round headlights. The model that just snap on.I think they were once made by EGR and even sold by Toyota Aus.I can only find the square model headlight protectors.I included a picture off the round headlight model on a Aus Hj60.

Yeah the round headlight protectors are pretty much non existent these days. Maybe roodog will have something?

Yesterday I bought my truck a Xmas present A bonnet guard to finish the front end off when I paint the grill and headlight surrounds black :steer:

That's a great investment especially up your end with the constant seasonal road works.

Eventually the sticker peels off and you can do this!

Hey guys

If it's out there in Aus I'll find it

Here you Sved

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291041071179?

Wow, what a beautiful truck!

I don't know the answer to your question perhaps eBay, but how did you manage to fit a winch on the alloy bull bar?

Hey Nex
It's fairly easy actually and I will be doing as part of my build.

With the 60 there is quite a bit of room between the body and the ends of the chassis, you need to purchase a winch craddle they are about $90 (can put a pic up if you want) you then mount the craddle to your chassis, takes all the weight, then cut a hole in alloy bar and you have a winch on a alloy bar :)

Today I purchased some of those single pole double throw relays to do my power windows once I get back , thanks to that thread on mud:cheers:

Also got me one of those 12V buzzers to use as an alarm for when you leave your headlights on, $3.95 to save yourself from embarrassment , thanks to another thread on here

So much work to do when I get home, every new gadget I see I want:doh:

Strange you didn't have the standard OEM light reminder in your 89 model? Or did those only come standard on the GX and VX spec models like in Europe?.
My Hj60 didn't have it either ,so i installed a 24V Scania air pressure warning buzzer.

OEM light reminder part numbers

85969-90A00 24V
85969-90A01 12V

Might be standard on the VX but my GX doesn't have it

Checked today. Only 15cm room or so. Not sure a winch can be fit in.

I was all set to head home today but now the bloody roads are closed around Port Hedland, cyclones who needs them :bang:

So whilst I've been in Perth it's been a busy little time:clap:

Purchased new shockies, Rancho RS5000 all round, full set of bushes for the suspension, extended front shackles, tie Rod end kit, a sand blasting kit so I can get all the crap off the secondhand springs, a new welder, new tool boxes so I can find my tools.

So hopefully will be heading home tomorrow and then get back to the good stuff:cheers::steer:

Hi Spud,

Happy new year! Good luck with your travel.

It looks like you will get 3" lift, which is 2" spring lift and 1" shackle lift.

What are you going to do with the brake hoses and sway bar links?

I found them not long enough to do 3" lift.

Cheers,

Hey Nex, same to you mate hope you have a good one.

I haven't thought about the brake lines yet, as my setup will be heavy duty springs on the rear from a donor vehicle and then the shocks, so hopefully should be 2 inch.

On the front I have standard springs ATM so the extended shackles should give it a inch to inch an half lift, then the 16 inch rims and 285 tyres should get it off the ground another inch or 2 :steer::cheers:

As it's not my daily driver I've got a bit of time to work as I go and any problems can be fixed when they arise. :grinpimp:

That's my plan anyway

Got back into Halls Creek today:bounce::bounce2: finally get back to my project.

So I had a few parcels waiting for me, firstly my mirrors

They are silver in colour and electric, unfortunately though

Can't believe I sent 2 mirrors all the way to America, no problem, mine come from South Australia and one cracked:bang: hopefully it's not too hard to change the mirror.

Also my centre console and roof console turned up :bounce: unfortunately no switches Sved :bang:

I'll have to wait another week for my suspension parts to turn up, so tomorrow I'll workout where to start again

 Spud

Oh! And almost forgot, my IH8MUD stickers finally turned up from the US, :)
