Hi Spud,

Do you realise that the overhead consol you bought could come from the same truck where you got your center consol from??
If so that would mean that the overhead console needs 24 volt.I gues the GRUB is a 12volt specimen.

Just a thought....

Sved you're the devils advocate :bang: don't say that :crybaby:

If it happens that way then I will improvise  put gauges in there etc etc.

Also as the 12 volt Sahara is a standard here, I reckon the guy would have said it was a 24volt

You think he would know that?,there's not that many JDM trucks is AUS.Hopefully for you i'm wrong.
The center consol you bought is 100% JDM because the seat heater switches where only sold on 24Volt trucks in Japan.

More reason you need to sell it to me ;) I don't need the whole console just the digital thermometer. It easily separates from the console. If its 24v... 24v will clearly be stamped in red on the back of the thermometer.

There are too many JDM high roof 60's down here, for some reason in the late 90's there must have been while ships come over with them. I guess that was the beginning of the Japanese old car pollution policy it something.

Any way bottom line we have a heap of them and hopefully without offending anyone they were all worthless rubbish. I have no idea why they would die but we would wreck one a day there in the early 2000's.

Time for me to have my first cry:crybaby:

At the end of the day it's my own stupid fault, it was clearly there in the pictures

I have a couple of options, easy one being 12 volt globes for the map lights, buy an invertor to change from 12v to 24v, rip out the temp gauges and put in some other round gauges.

So you might be lucky Swamprunner.

Improvise improvise improvise :steer::bang::clap:

Thanks mate, I'm getting all my little goodies for the truck, then taking a 3 week break for Chrissy and then when I get back time to fit everything up

Just having a look on eBay, with the converter is it correct that I need a 12V to 24V converter, same as this one

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/110999105147?

The majority of these converters are 24V to 12V, so just wanted to make sure

Hi spudman,

Sorry i was right about the 24V and ruined your day:rolleyes:

Yes that is the converter you need to make it work. How about the center console? Did you already recieved it? Did it have the (maybe mine :grinpimp:) 24Volt seat heater switches ?It,s getting cold over here.......

Het Sved

No worries mate, I'm glad you pointed it out to me, I didn't even consider the 12/24 volt systems.

Also mate if the switches are there, then they're yours, I'm getting it delivered to Perth as it is so much cheaper, so it should be there when I get there next week.

Levron

Thanks for comments mate, not as much as I've seen on here lately, but enough to keep me busy

Thanks mate, looks like santa is going to send me some ''goodies'' this year.:bounce:
We will work something out:)

Here is a picture of the converter i use in the 12V 90 series,so i can use the 24volt Engel fridge which usually houses in the HJ60.Works like a charm.

Thanks mate, that's a 25 amp model, the one I've ordered is only 6 amp, should be plenty

Hi spudman,

Going to ruin your day once more:grinpimp:
Start looking for a new pair of sunvisors. Those that go with the overhead consol are shorter.Or you can cut them to right lenght, and glue them up.

Greetings

You are the devils advocate :bang::censor::doh:

Yeah I'm already aware of that Sved, gonna have a look in Perth for a set, someone's already stolen the ones out of the Sahara here

Since starting my build I've had a couple of inquiries about sending parts over to the USA as I have an abundance of 60's here, well today I sent a set of mirrors to bloke over there, postage cost me $77 by airmail, or $46 by sea and will take 3 months.

I put the mirrors in a box weighed 2.6 kilos, so if you seriously want parts unfortunately you have to be prepared to pay for them in freight alone

Yeah it's a top mount, hope to start on it when I get back in couple of weeks, PM me if you want some of those stickers and we'll work it out.

Thanks

Yesterday I bought my truck a Xmas present

A bonnet guard to finish the front end off when I paint the grill and headlight surrounds black :steer:
