Ha Ha you really had me on that one.Should have seen my face....
They look great, hope they survive the trip to Sweden:steer::cheers:

Hi Spud,

Happy new year! Good luck with your travel.

It looks like you will get 3" lift, which is 2" spring lift and 1" shackle lift.

What are you going to do with the brake hoses and sway bar links?

I found them not long enough to do 3" lift.

Cheers,

Hey Nex, same to you mate hope you have a good one.

I haven't thought about the brake lines yet, as my setup will be heavy duty springs on the rear from a donor vehicle and then the shocks, so hopefully should be 2 inch.

On the front I have standard springs ATM so the extended shackles should give it a inch to inch an half lift, then the 16 inch rims and 285 tyres should get it off the ground another inch or 2 :steer::cheers:

As it's not my daily driver I've got a bit of time to work as I go and any problems can be fixed when they arise. :grinpimp:

That's my plan anyway

I have a few pics and a description of the replacement swaybar drop link I made at the bottom of this post if you end up needing to make them.

Thanks mate, I bet that was a lot cheaper as well, my plan is to start pulling the suspension apart in the next week or so, so I'll see how I go. :)

Hey Sved
Thought you'd like that mate, hopefully I'm going out to the block tomorrow, so I'll hopefully get your wiring for you.

Hey Nex

If you click on Merchandise in the top right of the web page, you can order the stickers plus other stuff there, the stickers are $3 which includes postage to Australia, they took a while. But very happy :)

Nice! Hopefully i can find something siMiLiar. How long are they by the way? I assume the extended length is the amount of the lift?

Cheers,

I don't know how long they are, and it will be different with different suspension builds. I just made them the length needed to have the eyelet in the end of the swaybar to be parallel to the mount on the frame.

Well!

Have you ever had one of those days, where you wake up in the morning, fully intending to work all day uninterrupted on your car, you know like everyday if you could:bang:

Then this loud voice from above, no not him, THE WIFE :censor: you ain't bloody spending one minute on that car unless that driveway is spotless :ban:

Yep I agree it was a real mess and yes I purchased 2 tool trolleys in Perth so I can put all my tools away, But! :censor:

So after a long day cleaning the garage, tomorrow will be another day and the work will begin :bounce::bounce2:

I forgot the funniest thing again

This morning I had to play musical cars again, move the donor vehicle forward, get the grub out and then start cleaning :bang:

Anyway my driveway has a bit of a slope, so I decided to tie a rope to the back of the donor vehicle as it has no brakes, no clutch, won't start. I then tied the other end to my vehicle.

I then thought I'd just give it a gentle push so it would roll down the driveway and as I did it took off and yep you guessed it, the rope broke so it shot straight across the road and half way up the neighbours driveway, luckily it's a real quiet street.:bang::censor::doh:

So all turned out ok, I just reveres my 200 in and then used the winch to pull the donor back up the driveway:steer::clap:

Back into it today

I started removing the rear springs, as I will be taking the heavy duty springs out of a donor vehicle and putting them in mine.

I thought I would start by removing the 4 nuts that hold the U bolts in place, all the while I'm undoing the bolts I'm thinking this is not right, should have a jack under there or something.

All of sudden when I undid the last bolt the whole suspension and axle fell to the ground, thank god I stayed outside the line of the vehicle :bang: what a complete idiot, I could have killed myself.

Anyway spring out

I then removed the shock absorber, I went to push it in, thinking there would be some pressure and there was nothing it just closed up and stayed close.

I then removed the other side, doing everything correctly with jack stands and took half the time.

I purchased a sand blaster whilst in Perth so while I've got everything out I'm going to sand blast everything and then paint it all black including the springs, it's pretty filthy under there

So that's it for today, tomorrow I will remove the springs from the donor vehicle.

So you got a free AUX fuel tank with it,you lucky ba....:censor:
I'm in the proces of installing mine under the HJ60.

Greetings

Yes mate, that's a 140 litre tank and also has the original tank and the spare tyre still fits under there as well :)

Hey mate

I haven't really considered a buy it now price, this is only my second time selling something on eBay so I'm a newbie to that.

If you want to discuss further, please PM me.

Wow an actual coil spring over leaf spring setup! Are you going to keep it?

Hey Nex

I don't think they call it coil over, it's just airbag suspension to assist when towing, I'm actually these ones, the leaf springs on the donor vehicle as a different set that seem to be more heavy duty, so I'll be fitting those to my truck

Today, I removed the suspension from my donor vehicle, I started off first using lots of penetrating fluid, but once I got under the vehicle I realised that just about everything under there including the springs, shackles and bushes were basically brand new, just covered in a lot of mud.

So I replaced the springs from my truck and put them on the donor vehicle and the suspension dropped about 2 inches.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet :bounce::bounce2:

I had to workout in the sun with the donor, it was about 45 degrees and got a bit sunburnt :bang:

Hopefully my new shockies turn up by the end of the week

Nice job!

But remember, if old springs got sagged, the actual lift might not be 2".

My new 2" lift springs give me more than 3" lift as the old ones were sagged severely.

To give you an idea how much lift it is, the diatance from centre of the axle to the guard is 575 mm. Even higer than Sved's 2" spring lift and 1" shackle lift, which is 550mm. :) I did't use the efs extended shackles because i fear the shocks and brake hoses are not long enough. So play it safe.

I got the rear springs too, going to do it this weekend. Will try the shakles in the rear to see if shocks and hoses are good enough or not.

Tryig it on the front doesn't make any use because the sway bar holds the front axle from dropping to full down. Therefore you can't tell if they are long enough or not.
