Mine's a slushbox but i have a handthrottle. For keeping the revs up for whatever you have in mind. Hehe

Not getting off topic, can someone explain the hand throttle thing to me on an auto truck for other than maybe winching or hi rpm/ amp delivery when not in the truck??? last time i looked these trucks only had two pedals in the US.
thanks

Winching, charging, OBA keeping the revs up

Do we have a Hino Dealer on the boards? I found three different types of cable assemblies advertised by online part suppliers, but nothing in the form of a kit much less what is needed for an FZJ80. (My '94 has the proper pedal as OEM)

The reasons for adding this is for a hydraulic winch...

Or for keeping revs up while you're jump starting someone.
Or for keeping revs up while you're using a 12VDC winch.
Or for keeping revs up while warming up the truck.

Generally for all of these I'm only dialing in 1200-1500RPM or so and locking it there.

I did say other than those scenarios.... thats why rocks are on the trail and vicegrips in the toolbox

I found this company. If anyone has the dimensions of the oem cable we could have them make us kits
PUSH-PULL.COM

Good idea/option. But what will be the minimum order quantity to keep the price reasonable.:hhmm: Because anything what is custom built is $$$

If someone posts measurements ill call. And considering we can't get oem here its worth the $. I can't imagine a 1.5 foot cable being over a hundred bucks. But ill call as soon as I know what I'm asking for.

OK for those who are really in need for OEM LandCruiser 80 LHD Hand Throttle, either for Winching, Charging, Jump starting or just to have another OEM feature that everybody have in their LC except us in North America.

I found a source of them in Europe. I can get the whole kit as Slee had before. The kit will be $50 which will include 78410-60090(Cable), 78402-60030(Knob), 90179-14032(Nut). Shipping will be done from Europe to Canada in one box and after i can ship the cables individually.

From my experience shipping from Canada to USA will be $5 and from Europe to Canada about $90-100 so if we can get more than 10 people, shipping from Europe will be cheap. I am expecting total shipping to your door in USA between $10-15 depends on number of people who will order Hand Throttle.

Let me know is anybody will be interested in Groupbuy for hand throttle.

I've seen the longer Mag lite flash light used as the poorman's hand throttle (pin it between the pedal and the seat pulled forward IIRC).

Dan and I have been working on these parts the past couple of days.

For the cable we are coming up with 78410-60090 as another possible option for the cable we cross referenced it with the pedal/bracket assy.

I'm working on seeing if TMSUSA will add the hand throttle parts to the EPC.

Currently, only the nut is available.

Man, that would be so sweet if you guys will be able to add Hand Throttle to North American EPC. Keep us posted and i wont make groubuy thread until we get the final words from you if you can or cannot add these parts to EPC.

I'm in. Would be great for winching and charging the batteries.

I have one from Slee.
My problem with it is that the knob is too loose on the cable and comes off too easily.

Any one care to share a trick on how to secure the knob better to the cable? Keep in mind the knob has to come off when taking the knee guard off. So it needs to be tight, but not permanent. I made half a*s attempt with Teflon tape but that was no good.

To all who plan the get a new one. Do not pull on the knob! Depress the accelerator first, then pull on the cable gingerly and twist. If you pull on the knob, you will round off the ribs that hold the plastic knob to the metal cable.

Akella, did you contact SOR? or search their website for part # 178-24C? You have to click the Part # radio button above the search area ;)

Last I checked, it said they have them in stock..

Throttle $61.99, Knob $23.88, Nut 2.05.... a bit more expensive so not sure if the shipping will cancel it out??

I contacted SOR. They have them in stock, but the price is a bit steep for me. For a little part like hand throttle price $86 is a bit expensive. Plus shipping to Canada will make it $100 part easily. So if we can get Beno and CDan to add the parts to EPC it will be just awesome if not $50 plus $10-15 shipping with order about 7 people does not seems too bad. If we can get more than 10 people for group order i will try to squeeze more discount from seller in Europe.

I just spending too much on my LC and gas is not getting cheaper and i just trying to save wherever i can. But i am not complaining:hillbilly:

Don't hold your hopes up high for TMSUSA to make a decision based on what customers want....

This is an "attempt" on our part to get something added.

This attempt is similar to getting one's student loan debt forgiven.
