That Cruiser lived here in my town for a number of years. I always thought the suspension on it was way funky and lame. I have had an 85 FJ60 I had on 35's next to it a number of times and proportions wise my truck was on the money and the Goss truck was way funky. Personal opinion though. I also laughed out loud a number of times when I saw the exhaust routed up over the hood spewing black soot onto the roof of the truck.

Any ways, looks like it has landed in very capable hands. I hope the truck works out for you and you enjoy it.

Yeah, I am kind of at a crossroads of what to do with the truck now. Before I was researching a bunch on how to run the 80's axles and suspension without swapping the entire frame. Seriously thought of buying a cheap one, cutting everything off the frame of Goss, linking it front and rear and swapping everything over. I was also half way through designing aluminum bumpers. This year has brought a bunch of new stuff on my plate, including multiple projects. We will see how wild I get if I keep it.

Any chance you remember what oil sender that is? Application or part number?
 
The last part of the oiling system was the feed and drain to the turbo

Keep an eye on the Holset turbo with the #10 drain line, I used something similar when I had B/W ball bearing turbos on my 4BT but when I switched to the Holset I pushed oil past the seals, I was told 17MM minimum ID for any hose or fitting and I ended up with AN#12 fittings and ¾” hose to accomplish this. YMMV

Thank you. I don't have the info handy as it bet its in the stock of random paperwork and receipts somewhere in the shop.
The closest I could find was a Duralast replacement PNs are as follows;
Part Number: PS329
Alternate Part Number: OP76021

Thanks for the heads up. I'm reading up on it now and I may have to change that out. Ill dig deeper thought and get the ID of that goofy flex tube I removed because if it didn't blow the seals with that bent the way it was, for years, and the ID of the flange is bigger with the one I made I wonder if it will become a problem.

I've had quite a few extremely stressful attorney filled weeks since I last posted. On top of that my lady and I bought a house and I've been mulling over starting a small business. With all that I haven't done much as I've had absolutely no time. I go to work everyday and then come home and work on all the things that were neglected and we want to change in the house. I'm really spreading myself too thin. It's become painfully clear that I won't have the time to devote to it so I'm 95% sure I'll be putting it up for sale soon.

I finished all the wiring. I got rid of all the goofy switches that were used to power everything on (lights fan etc) then checked the cooling system by promptly getting stuck in traffic on a 96 degree day. No problems. In the mean time my lady has just been driving it since she loves it and I ride a motorcycle everyday.

This is the second garage/shop. Going to wire the sub panel and put up drywall before epoxying the floor. It's ironic I finally have the space but I won't have the time. Ah well.
 
Sounds like a keeper; my first hand knowledge with being spread thin and trying to explain these projects
to the other half. I acquired a rolled BJ74 and it has taken up all my time. I had 5 weeks off and still only managed
7 days on it with all the other obstacles to relaxing. I hate the sound of lawyer, right up there with doctor in my
case also. Its a good truck, worth the time and effort since the platform is a rock. Indian? No way I get another motorbike,
never get anything done!! J

Maybe. I had huge plans for, and already started designing, things I wanted to attempt with the truck (linked 80 axles, aluminum tig welded rack/bumpers). Lately I need to be a little more realistic. Let it sit and pay a small note every month and wait until these pricks start salting the roads in the winter or let it go?

Oh I'm lucky, she couldn't care less about my projects. When she met me I had a 7500q ft shop full of my projects and she drives a car that I modified the heck out of for her. I'm just juggling a classic muscle car and 3 classic Harley's already and potentially soon a new start up. There already aren't enough hours in the day and if I'm going to make this work I will only be busier the next few years.

Yeah, the last few months were stupid. Back to back legal situations. Everything worked out pretty well... I'm just tired, haha.
 
So there was a minor leak at the front of the motor that got bad, quickly, last week. Did some quick research on Cummins forums and it seems the front main isn't an uncommon leak so it was time to buy some parts.

Finding the parts to purchase proved to be harder than the installation. Apparently no Cummins number cross with parts sold by Napa or even the Dodge dealers anymore, so that was a small pain in the ass. Next step was calling the big diesel shops by my job but they only gave me options of paying twice the price of places online then waiting 4 days. Not happening. I did a little more research and found a Cummins hub (dealer, parts, and mechanics) close to home and tried them. They not only had the parts but at the same price as the cheapest places I found online and the parts counter is open until midnight everyday.

With the parts in hand it was time to start taking everything apart. I must say working on this motor was easier than some Lego sets I played with as a kid. The belt comes off in 3 seconds, you take off the balancer and front pulley then just unbolt anything thats blocks the front timing cover. That simple. Once done I found that this $50 front main wasn't the culprit. Ah well, gotta replace it now.

Looks like that timing cover is problem. Good thing I bought an OEM gasket while I was there. Not going to play that gray RTV as a gasket game. Once I got the cover removed I saw that they used a good metal gasket but they weren't best with the red silicone. Ah well, time to do this right and clean all the threads so the bolt torque back down well and emory cloth the entire surface... which always takes forever.

Well I didn't take many more pics due to the oil and crap being all over my hands and just wanting to be done but it went back together just as easy and is now dry as a bone. Kind of wish the motor was still all Mopar blue or at least evenly sprayed black. Ah well, thats what happens when you "spray and pray" with paint.

Hey Seth. I bought Goss from TJ and I wanted to let you know that the truck lives on. Thanks for the work you contributed to it!
