look at the intake pipe coming up from down below, my guess is FMIC in front of radiator.

Lots of these conversions don't have an IC. Curious about the power difference with full size IC versus none? My son had a 97 Ram 3/4 ton with the 6bt. The IC was way bigger than the radiator.

Anyone heard anything on this? Looks like they are moving ahead with the 2.8L but no pricing details yet. Seems like the 2.8L is right on the edge of what I would deem acceptable for power for the 80. I know folks are saying it's lighter than 1 HDT, what about 1FZ-FE. How does the 2.8 compare weight wise?

On paper, looks like it's down on power, up on torque. I'm sure fuel economy would be much improved but my gut says that as an overall solution, an LS would have a lot better performance with only slightly worse mileage.

Wonder if they're waiting to announce @ Overland Expo in Flagstaff 2nd week of May? Would be very cool if they came out with the 3.8L soon as well - probably the perfect fit for an 80.

If the $7500 price stated above holds, has good choice of adaptors, and is 50 state emissions legal (stated goal) I think they could do pretty well.

Just got back from Easter Jeep Safari. Saw the 2.8 motor installed into TJ chassis with 4L60 by a company 10 miles from Cummins in Indiana called Axis. Advanced Adapters also has adapters for it in their printed catalog.

Cummins is waiting on CARB certification to release, vendors can't say price but in ballpark of $8k.

No, I heard up to around 97-00 range. Has ERG, no DEF or cat.

Being CARB certified at 160 hp/ 270 ft-lbs. Axis said same motor is sold by Cummins with ratings up to 225 hp and 385 ft-lbs, so aftermarket should have no problem tuning to that level without hurting reliability/durability.

Has integrated oil cooler but needs a remote mounted oil filter. V44 injection pump does not need a lift pump in tank. Remote mount spin on fuel filter with water sensor.

They claim it's almost as quiet as VW TDI.

Comes 120 amp alt, needs an intercooler, not provided. Has PS pump, no AC. Axis and I assume others will have solution for AC compressor soon.

Comes from Cummins with a composite oil pan. Axis will offer a steel one. They simply used T fittings to plumb in TJ oil pressure and water temperature sensors. Motor electronics are self contained.

Anyone know the Aisin AX15 5 speed used in Jeeps compares to Toyota manual gearboxes? I believe they are built by Aisin also.

Advanced Adapters catalog page.

Axis pointed out their motor mount design was better than AA's. AA's is flat, Axis is angled and minimizes torque reaction (according to them).

Not QUITE as big as originally on the Dodge trucks?

Not as much square inches, but volume, the same, the stock Dodge is about 1 1/2 deep, the one I am using is about 3" deep
