Been a while since I had talked to Dan....actually thought I called him so much years ago that he got sick of hearing from me... LOL

But.. I needed a part for my Tacoma that folks were saying was no longer available...so I just had to find out for sure so I called up my good buddy Dan and whattaya know--he rustled up the part! The part was indeed manufacturer discontinued, but using his special shaman powers, he could see there was a few still in stock at various US dealers and he was able to pull one and send it my way.

Dan is def the man!

My story is not unlike anyone else here that has dealt with CDan...... BUT you will have to listen to my story still.

So, a year ago I ordered a bunch of parts for my 80. Cdan shipped, but only 2 spark plugs out of 6 were there. I called and Cdan, he checked his inventory and it was off, so he shipped the missing ones.

Some time later I bought a bunch more parts for a project to be done during the winter months. Well 2 months after I bought them, I started the project, but could not find a bearing that I ordered from CDan. Called him up, he checked inventory, it was not off. He told me that he would replace it. I told him, no way that he should give me a part. It was my fault for not checking the box or maybe I lost it in my mess. I told him to charge me for another one and gave him my cc information.

He shipped one to me and did not charge me for it. That is some crazy type of customer service that I don't see much these days.

Anyway, for those of you that have a business, small or large, this is the type of service that will gain you lifetime customers. If you have employees, this is what you want to promote to show customers that you aspire to meet and exceed their expectations.

Fast forward two months and now I found the "missing" part. So, I need Cdan's address to mail it back to him, perfect in the box with a small gift to thank him for reminding me what great customer service is like...

Cheers to you,

Hahahaha.

Guess it could be misconstrued, but by the voice alone, a completely different mental image can develop.

Nothing wrong with her......but not the Siren I was expecting jumping to a certain death into the whirlpool for.

All in humor, since I don't contrive mental images of dudes, anyway, but I bet you're kind of cute after talking on the phone to you. Bahahahahaha.

I'm freaking gorgeous. Read this thread and you can see me in all my glory. Don't let the misses catch you reading it ;)

I'm so glad I found a link to this thread. Took my 80 to a shop and the U-joints on the front driveshaft are shot. So loose the truck clanks quite loudly when shifting between drive and reverse. Also got a big hole in the Catalytic Converter and the downpipes are rusting so thin, was told to replace them with the cat. I sure hope I can get a hold of cruiserdan asap!

Hi CD: could I get a price for 4 wheel caps for a 1997 LC? Many thanks. Gary. ps, ignore my last question about a grab bar...I e heard head injuries are bad for you. Thanks. Gary.

Is Dan still around? Looks like this thread is pretty old. I'm finding that getting parts for this car is worse than getting parts for just about any car I've owned including 6 BMWs! My goodness. I need the upper and lower shock cushion retainers (they look like big washers basically) at all 4 corners, mine are turning to dust and I'm changing out the shocks. The car is apart so I really need them ASAP. First dealer call has me at 6 days out and 140.00 for all 16 "washers". Help.

Call him. He's still around. His number is in the first post. He'll get you what you need.

I just called... Dan retired and as soon as I said I needed parts for a land cruiser... they cut me off and told me to fax my parts list and they will get to it when they can... no promises. Sounds like Dan was a one of a kind. The guy I talked to said that Dan's hobby was to talk to guys like me all day long about their land cruisers but that they didn't have the time to do that. They said they would still honor prices but they couldn't promise that they would continue to do it.

Dan helped me a while back when I was going to order a part. He asked me some questions, then said that I didn't need the part and told me what to do.

If anyone is looking to order parts... better get on it.

They asked for my VIN #, a list of the parts I needed, and a phone number to contact me at.

The fax they gave me was (505) 998-0249

Dood. Call @beno he is dan's chosen successor and gives great service and prices.

Contact number (505)944-5081?

Same area code...is it the same place that cdan worked? Just don't want to call the same place twice.

That's the right number. He's out of Atlanta now.

Just do a quick search for "
Beno Onur". (Beno is his Mud handle).

Onur started a thread and it has all of the info to contact him...email is best.

Dan took off to be the curator of a Land Cruiser museum. He and Onur worked together for years...you'll be in good hands.
