I have a lathe so I thought about cutting some blanks if I needed to eventually

The pins are made from hardened steel.
Theres pics of pins floating about that show grooves rubbed into the aneroid pin by the little pin that follows the taper.

That looks like the stock pin from a 1HD-FT.
The 1HD-T pin is similar but without the second smaller slope toward the end of the pin.
So I'm led to believe

So you don't think spinning up a blank to grind a new profile will work? It can be beat tempered when complete. I have seen people grinding down the stock ones but I'm not that brave. I would rather make my own but if the gains I'm after can be achieved by just rotating the stock pin than that's the route I would like to take

I have not done it but I can't see why you could not do it. As mentioned it will need good casehardening heat treatment once done to prevent wear.
Depending on the boost your planning on running, I think even the stock pin will require mods.

Lumpskies pin looks a little different to my 1hd-t pin. Mine was early 1990 though, so they may have changed

@vwluv10338 If you can case harden after machining, I dont see why not to make your own blank. The stock pin is fairly highly polished

Here are a couple more pictures of my pin, in case it helps... I'm curious if you guys think it's stock or not. And if it's not, what is it?

Last time i checked my local toyota dealer.can ask again if people are interested. Its only a phone call.

Sorry blank post! I'm trying to upload pics but failed. Anyway aneroid pins for the HZ 105 with the altitude comp style pumps can still be purchased and can be easily modified to suit the extra fueling required for the gturbos I currently have one in my car an it provides more then enough fuel once the correct groove is ground into it.
Part number: 2232117610 about $55 aus
I have some good pics but can not work out how to upload them atm i'll keep playing..

That rod looks really similar to my "99" or "66" rod.

Hey, have any of you guys run your 1HD-T on a dyno? I'm curious what kind of wheel HP they make stock and what kind of power they make with your Gturbo setups.

I had my 1HD-T on the dyno a few times, never stock though. I'm told that a stock manual HDJ80 makes about 75rwkw. 3"Exhaust and tune and you're mid 80s.
I made 114rwkw and low 400s nm (can't quite remember the exact figure) on 285s with a 3" exhaust, 600x400x76 Cross Country top mount with a 900cfm SPAL fan under it and about 14 psi on the stock CT26. With an XXi pump, Gturbo badboy, 4" stainless snorkel, Moonlight Duramax panel filter airbox and 25 psi, I made 154rwkw and 580 rwnm. All at 17:1 off boost and 20:1 - 21:1 on boost. Max power was at 3600 and max torque at 1800.
Timing at 1.3mm lift with the XXi pump (their spec) and the most advanced side of stock spec with the standard pump.
EGTs would settle at or slightly below 650C, if you worked it hard you could get it to 700C, probe pre-turbo
HTH

Wow, thanks for those figures. Hopefully, I'll be able to get on a friend's dyno and just see what my stock pump, Grunter, 23psi combo puts down.

Thanks Grevis, I ordered the rod and a diaphragm $98aud, wasn't showing as available from Amayama but the local Toyota dealer could get them from Japan
